I hope that you're wrong. He's one of my favorite Jets and still playing at a high level. He's a key contributor. Why should they want to trade him, especially for only a 5th round pick? He's on the last year of his contract. Hopefully, following this season, he'll want to retire a Jet while he still has his health. I'd hate to see him playing for another team.

Rosen or Mayfield for me. I want no part of Allen or Darnold.

You're entitled to your opinion, but that opinion is nuts!

O passing rank 20,17,19,16,7the. Far more likely that they went to the SB because the NFC was awful the year they went. There were only 4 teams with winning records in the NFC the year they went to the SB and every other team in there division had a losing record. They did have a well managed team. Donovan McNabb was not a great QB. He never threw for 4000 yards had 1 30 TD season and had a 59% completion percentage playing in a west coast style O. FYI it wasn't the McNabb era it was the Reid era. The SB team had 3 all pros and none of them were named McNabb. Terrell Owens, Lito Sheppard and Michael Lewis. They also had a terrific running back in Brian Westbrook.

The Jets went to two AFC Championship games with Mark Sanchez. After seeing what Sanchez has done elsewhere you can make an argument Fitzpatrick and McCown are better NFL QB's.

lol, do you keep changing your mind?

Rosen is just way too much risk.
All the personality of Cutler, with the durability of Bradford.
I hope Mac stays far away, and goes with Mayfield or Barkley if both Allen and Darnold are gone (and they likely will be gone).

Really? Ryan Leaf was at one time considered a far more sure fire blue chip prospect, as was many more that have gone in the top five. Mayfield wasn't even considered a 1st round prospect by most six months ago. He's a pure creation of draft hype and marketing and has the weakest, least transferable skill sets to the NFL than any of the top 6 prospects.

This is a dumb argument, IMO. Plenty of successful QB's weren't considering a good prospect prior to the season of their draft entry.

And just as many QB's were pumped up by the media and their agents to be much more than they are, just to increase their pay day.

I agree it's not happening, but I'd much rather Barkley than settling for Rosen.

I'm hoping for either Allen or Darnold to fall to 3, which seems unlikely at this point as well.
Maybe we'll get Mayfield, which I wouldn't mind either (although upset we traded up).

Hard to say Mayfield is just draft hype and marketing.
The guy did win the Heisman, and was in contention for the National title. His college production was excellent, it's not like it's fabricated.

Whether those skills will translate well to the NFL is certainly up for debate tho.

Sure, but how does that DIRECTLY make Mayfield the next Ryan Leaf? That's an extreme comparison.

I'm just speculating. With the reports of him getting a reduced role then they sign Rawls and Crowell. I'd rather keep him, but he is a tradable piece.

Not sure we can get more than a 5/6 for Powell though. I'd rather just keep him and roll with him/Crowell/McGuire, and Rawles for depth.

I'm not sure what you are saying?

My point to the other poster was that Mayfield had a lot of production in college. It's not like he came out of nowhere, or from some marketing hype.

How is it extreme? Less than 50% of the QB's taken in the top 5 pick over the history f the draft have actually become Franchise QB's, that should tell you all you need to about the odds.
