Now that we are out on Suh, I think we need to go after Junior Gallette. We could use his pass rushing abilities from the outside. I think it would be a big boost for us and help Mauldin/Jenkins.
Or maybe Ealy? They're starting to amass a sizable crew at LB. Hopefully we see an overall upgrade on the edges and in depth. And get another fatbody to stuff the middle up front
Agreed. Resigning Ealy makes a ton of sense. At this point, I'd imagine it would be an inexpensive resigning. His versatility is also valuable. They resigned Pennel to a bigger deal than I would have guessed, so maybe he's in for a bigger role. They also have Dion Simon I'd also like to see them resign David Bass, who provided something resembling a pass rush. Other than that, I'd prefer not to have a veteran OLB signing and like them to target a pass-rusher in the 3rd or 4th. Should be some decent prospects there (Armstrong, Turray, Nwosu, Sweat)
I agree. I don't see what the delay is with Ealy. Maybe they are waiting until after the draft? I always thought it was foregone conclusion that he'd be back.
I was just wondering about Ealy earlier. Wasn't sure if he had re-signed with the Jets or not. That really should have been a slam dunk signing after cutting Wilkerson. Not sure why they haven't yet. Maybe he wants to go elsewhere? All I can think of, because he was solid last year.
He's the guy that beat a girl with a belt on the beach??? no thx. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=W7fbbuq9aBQ
No way!!! His character is one of the worst in the NFL. He's constantly in trouble. There's no way Mac should even be considering that POS.
I think WR Brice Butler from Dallas is a free agent. Good Hands and decent size, lays out for balls. I dont care who the quarterback ends up being this year but he needs targets. I like the young guy's we have because they have huge potential if they stay healthy and away from off the field trouble.
Gallette is 30. Pass on him. WR we are probably set. Could use dl, ol and lb. Going off a list here are the ones we should consider. 1. Hankins. Surprised he hasn't been picked up. 26 fits the youth movement solid player. Be good next to Williams. Wonder if he is not a scheme fit. If he is I'd like him. 2. Bennie Logan. 28. I think he lost a step but still young and could help. Like Hankins is he a scheme fit? 3. Kony Ealy. 26. Surprised we haven't resigned him. Maybe after the draft. Had a few good games last year but nothing greatr. 4. Austin Howard. 31. Probably looking to be a starter but I'd take him for depth and to push Shell and Beachum. Probably won't come here but not a bad option. 5. Alex Boone. 31. Same as with Howard. Good depth probably wants a starting job and age is an issue. 6. Jordan Matthews: I know we don't need receivers but I always liked him. Won't happen but listed him because personally he is a favorite. 7. Connor Barwin: Three years ago I would hope the Jets would be all over him. At 31 he could be a pass rush specialist for us but age is an issue. 8. Luke Joeckel. 26. Would take a flyer on him. Been on a couple of teams now so probably not that good but for depth not a bad option. There are a few other lineman for the o and d lines but they are above 33. I don't think the Jets want to go there. Maybe one year cheap deals but these veterans if they play will probably resign with their own team or go to a team that could win. If the Jets were to get a few of these guys it would be good. At this point Hankins is the only one I would like them to sign before the draft. With the draft, free agent rookies and June 1st cuts the Jets will probably wait and see what they have before they make other signings.
It wasn't just the belt part it was all of it, I couldn't work out which side anybody was on at all, it just seemed utter bedlam
Adam Schefter Raiders are releasing tight end Clive Walford who was a former 3rd-round pick, per source. Expected to find a new home quickly. Sign this dude.
Makes sense to take a flier on him assuming medicals and whatever other issues check out. Apparently he had a serious knee injury a year or two ago and hasn't been the same.
His knee injury wasn't that serious in 2016, he missed a few weeks. He originally hurt his leg in an ATV accident which pissed off the FO. They signed Jared Cook and he got buried behind Cook when Musgrave left.
Every word in a sentence was a swing....I/ wack, said/wack, not/wack, to/wack, touch/wack, the/wack, TV/wack. Other than being Jet fans, I'm sure we all turned out alright. Unlike the snowflakes nowadays who can't handle anything, without having anxiety attacks and nervous breakdowns if something doesn't go their way! Pass on Gallete, he's one unstable dude, that was some serious PTSD.
