The addition of Johnson & Suh could make put the defense near the top of the league. Unfortunately, the offense has not improved much.
Yes. Roberts makes 6 (count 'em) WRs competing for the returner spot. Brisly Estime, Lucky Whitehead, JoJo Natson, Andre Roberts, Damore'ea Stringfellow and Jalin Marshall.
damnnnnn that's a lot of competition. maybe we'll finally come away with a competent punt returner. I'd like to see Whitehead rebound. Him and Roberts have the experience, which goes a long way. Enough with fumbling punts. I'm curious about Brisly Estime also.
Yeah, if one of these guys doesn't prove to be a quality returner, something's bad wrong. Yeah, I was really excited to get Estime and then he got injured. I hope he will have no lasting effects from the injury. I'd love to see him win the job. I can't see the Jets keeping two returners who are both WRs, but I'd like to see them keep 2 in case of injury. That's bitten us with our returners each of the last 2-3 seasons. Supposedly, they're interested in NC State RB Nyheim Hines (4.38 40) who is also a returner. If they add him, then they could keep 2 returners. Hopefully, they can stash one on the PS.
Jets should take a flier on TE Gary "Big Play Barny" Barnidge given the Jets have reassembled MccCown, Pryor and Crowell. Barnidge took last year off so he has 1 year of less wear and tear and he tore it up with McCown at QB and was actually decent enough. On a 1 year deal, I think he can be a serviceable TE.
I agree. I had forgotten that he was available as he wasn't on the Spotrac FA list. I just read an article however, that he won't sign a cheap deal. He sat out last year because teams wouldn't pay him what he thought he was worth.
Is there anything more stupid than that ? Sat at home earning 0 or sign a deal for 3-5m and play the fucking game you are meant to enjoy playing, ah but then he already will have a shit ton in the bank so doesn't actually need the cash and the wage is actually a status symbol to them. See this flag it is coloured RED, avoid this sat at home cock and move on.
I tend to agree. He probably wants way too much money off of just his one good season in 2015, but he is worth at least kicking the tires on. In 2015, he had 79 receptions for 1,043 yards, 9 TDs, and 13.2 YPC. He started 13 of 16 games that season. In 2016 he started all 16 games but only had 55 receptions for 612 yards, 2 TDs, and 11.1 YPC. Throughout most of his career, he has been a backup and seen little action. He started out with the Panthers. In 4 years he appeared 64 of 64 games, but only started 0, 3, 3, and 5 games respectively over those 4 years, and had a grand total of 18 receptions for 320 yards and 1 TD. He then moved on to Cleveland where he appeared in 61 of 64 games, starting 43 of those games. Over that span, he had 13, 13, 79 and 55 receptions and 13 TDs total. His 11.5 YPC average in Cleveland was pretty good. The thing is the Jets' offense needs a TE who can get up the seam and catch. Tomlinson ain't that guy. Unless Leggett can get healthy and stay on the field, he ain't that guy. I don't think that Sterling is, either. They may not be able to draft one.
Yes, but he should be a young 33 and his legs should be fresh since he didn't play last year and over the first 4 years of his career didn't play much.
Sterling can run, very athletic TE, Hes a but raw but he at least spent time on the field with the offense so he may have a one up in the TE starting competition over Leggett. Tomlinson will get run as the extra blocker
