Eli's 37, it would make logical sense for the Giants to go QB, but then again, NFL teams have done stranger things.

I understand it's not likely, but it wasn't likely they would be picking 2nd right now either and yet it happened.

    Not a big deal.

No, I dont their names up on the list. I also dont see Marino, Favre, Brady, Unitas, Montana, Elway, Kelly, Rodgers, etc, etc. And again, I dont see anyone in the top 10 who became anything on any level. Strange given how much weight fans here are making over a stat that can be so dependent on others and says little about actual accuracy

Mayfield isnt Darnold or Rosen. No matter what the comp %s are.

I respect your opinion a lot, and hope you're right regardless of whether the Jets take him or not (well, as long as he goes to an NFC team). He seems like a good kid and is a likeable sort. I don't think he gets fixed so easily/quickly if at all.

They just traded JPP, Chubb is now officially in play for the number 2 pick.

Chubb would be a big addition to a team switching to a 3-4 defense.

And the beauty is it hands Rosen or Darnold to the Jets on a platter

The current star you reference completed almost 65% of his passes in that same system. And you're confusing arm talent with arm strength. Josh Rosen has arm talent; Josh Allen has arm strength. But hey! Josh Allen has the same first name as Josh Rosen so there's that!

Seriously? Do you really think he'll get those "clean pockets" with the Jets? Or more time to throw? As bad as he's looked under his present conditions he's only going to be worse in the pros, at least at first.

Wentz did that in Division 2 playing teams I’ve never even knew existed

I never understood the big deal about the Wonderlic. They should make a test that involves real football knowledge. A bunch of math and logic questions tells you very little about how a player processes what's happening on the field. With our modern technology you could even devise a test which uses video to show real life NFL game situations for each position and have players tested on it. You can have them make on field decisions in real time with the video, test them on strategy and reading the opposition, all sorts of things. This would be so much of a better system than the Wonderlic.

    this....

this is really just basic math. there is zero world where we would move up to 3 with only 2 players in mind, 30 days + from the draft. I'm sorry. There is just absolutely no way. In that case we wait for the clock to be running.

Darnold is going 1, so forget him.

Rosen COULD go 2, or could fall to us.

That leaves us realisitically with Josh Allen (who Mac loves), or Saquon Barkley.

There is just absolutely zero chance in hell we would have made this move when we did, then just sit there and cross our fingers until draft day. If there were only 2 choices for us, we would have traded into the top 2, not the top 3.

And before we scoff at the idea of 3 seconds for Saquon...This guy is looking to be the next Barry Sanders. He is a GAME CHANGER in every facet of the word. He's got the impact of Adrian Peterson in his prime. I NEVER use the term 'can't miss' but this guy is a CANNOT MISS prospect. Let's just imagine for a second we do take him at 3. Then we see what we have in Teddy this year, and if he ain't it we draft a QB next year round 1. Would not in retrospect be enamored with likely the best RB in the NFL and a franchise QB? Think about it big picture.

And before you ask. YES. I would trade 3 seconds for barry sanders or ADP in their prime. Any day of the week, including weekends.

Not to say we HAVE to draft Saquon, BUT if we do, I will not be mad in any way shape or form.

I think with the Giants' trade today, the road to Rosen/Allen/Mayfield just got a lot clearer and cleaner. The Giants will stay at 2 and draft Chubb. Perhaps the Football Gods have finally decided to give the Jets a break.

Who's to say that's what they will do? If they see a feeding frenzy for QB why can't they trade back?

    1) QB
    2) QB (in a trade)
    3) QB
    4) Saquon
    5) probably another dang QB
    6) Likely Nelson

    see where I'm going?

"Allen's performance was outstanding in the Senior Bowl when he came back in after a poor first appearance."

And you don't dismiss an entire body of work because of one sort of successful appearance.

And SOME experts do love Allen, but many question his fitness for the NFL.

And most people really did believe the planets revolved around the earth, and the earth was flat.
