who do you pick at #3 in each of the following scenarios for picks #1 and 2? Scenario A: Darnold 1, Allen 2: Jets At 3? B: Allen 1, Mayfield 2: C: Darnold 1, Rosen 2: D: Darnold 1, Mayfield 2: E: Darnold 1, Barkley 2:
Scenario F: Barkley 1 Nelson 2 Jets: Darnold Scenario G: Barkley 1 Darnold 2 Jets: Rosen Scenario H: Rosen 1 Allen 2 Jets: Darnold Scenario I: Mayfield 1 Darnold 2 Jets: Rosen Scenario J: Mayfield 1 Barkley 2 Jets: Darnold
Our offense needs a lot of work while one or two guys could make our defense elite. Bradley Chubb would make life very interesting for Tom Brady.
Scenario A: Darnold 1, Allen 2: Jets At 3? Rosen B: Allen 1, Mayfield 2: Rosen C: Darnold 1, Rosen 2: Cry D: Darnold 1, Mayfield 2: Rosen E: Darnold 1, Barkley 2: Rosen
The most "elite" defense in the NFL will still let up points against the better teams. A "shut down defense" is a myth, like unicorns and leprechauns, and the Jets need to grow up from believing in fairy tales and accept the reality that they need to build an offense that can score against anyone. Keeping the score close, and losing is still losing. Ten years of drafting "D" first hasn't produced the "elite" defense you seek, so why will this year be any different? "Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results" is Einstein's definition of insanity. The one "D" pick they need to make is getting a stud pass rusher...AFTER they get their FQB.

I honestly cannot see how you could watch tape of Rosen and not consider him far better than Allen, but it's clear from your posts that you're convinced Allen is better. I've yet to see any footage or analysis of Allen to back that up. Everything I've digested on Allen focuses on his potential and upside, but when talking about his actual accomplishments they all note his inconsistency. How you be so sure he's going to suddenly become consistent against far better competition is a mystery to me, and I mean that with all due respect...I'm obviously not seeing what you see.
