You don't trade up for Josh Allen. Chances are he could be there at 6 anyway. Not 100% but he certainly could still be there. Opinions are mixed on Allen across the board. The lack of experience reading defenses. The poor completion percentage. That's not stuff that tends to get better at the NFL level. That makes him a non starter for a lot of franchises.
"Yeah, let's tell Cimini all of our draft plans and not send smoke screens out. Let's trade up to #3 for sh*ts and giggles!" -Jets Front Office All that matters is the QB turns out to be good and lead the franchise going forward. I don't think it will be Allen, but if it is, all that matters is that he is good. Same with Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield.
I know that. I'm just saying I'd rather have Rosen or Darnold. If they are gone I'd take Saquon. I know they won't do that, because you don't give up that much for a RB.
Well we don’t know what the NFL community thinks of him. The national media certainly likes him more than the fans do. I think Allen’s potential is enormous and if he was the last QB standing at 6 I’d take him but I’m not gambling my career on him when there’s 3 safer choices with great potential as well.
im surprised how many people are high on mayfield. i would prefer to take lamar jackson further down in the draft than to take mayfield. i do not think he will be a good pro.
I couldn't care less what reporters say about who we're going to take. We'll just have to wait and see until draft day.
I'm not clicking on ciminis article. Did he own it, or just paste somebody else's conjecture as a 'source'. He's been doing that for a long time to pass along hits without having to own it. There was a time I might've worried but not anymore. If it's true it's luck.
Pretty sure he is saying if he was 3 inches taller, nobody would be questioning him as a top 3 talent.
understandable. he was an electric college qb with a big personality and alot of chutzpah. i see him as a guy who might struggle with multiple reads, might be too ready to take the check down and his guys wont be able to make big plays off the check down like they did in college and his running around buying time to make plays will work for a little bit until a de catches up to him as he is throwing to a guy who didnt pop open downfield. i see him as a great college qb that i have alot of concerns about how he will translate to an nfl qb. but time will tell. ive been right from time to time and ive been wrong from time to time.
Heard Allen is lacking in the brains department. Yeah just what we need. Giving up all that for Allen will prove to me that Macc is a moron and he was bought here explicitly to destroy this team.
Also understandable, I’m not saying he is a sure thing. I do think he would be looked at different if he was 6’4. To me there was 3 somewhat safe high potential QBs and one enormous boom or bust potential in this draft. Now they’ve ensured they got one of the 3. I think there is one they prefer more than others and it’s Mayfield. We’ll see..
Let me be very clear. Jets will not pick Allen. And if Jets pick Allen I will leave this board in shame and stop posting. R-E-L-A-X
