They need to do something about the paper planes- they are just a terrible accident waiting to happen
I've said it before and I'll say it again... a large percentage of our season ticket base are LOSER Giant fans that can't get tickets for the Giants. They could care less about the Jets. If you are complaining about the traffic you shouldn't have tickets. If you are complaining about who they are playing you shouldn't have tickets. If you are sitting there trying to outdrink your buddy instead of watching the game you shouldn't have tickets. If having season tickets to your favorite team is such an inconvienence than get rid of them, stop giving the Jets your money so you can sell them on ebay to Bear fans or Raider fans, get rid of them because there is a wait list 15 years long because people who don't want tickets have them, do all of us a favor and get rid of your tickets if it prevents you from what you really wanna do on Sundays in the fal
This reminded me of Tom Brady talking about his first game at Lambeau last week. The Packers are getting killed 35-0. Five minutes left in the game. Brady looks up into the stands and they are completely full. No one is booing their team. Classy fans. I'm looking forward to this weeks game.
all i know is "there is no 12th man for the jets." great teams have the stadium full, kinda helps the the offense and defense, teams like the colts, patriots, steelers, cowboys and may more are succesful and always will be because of their solid fan base. maybe its a ny/nj thing but i guess they only show up when things are good and stay home when things are bad, funny!
Give me a break. Watch the tape from the Jets @ Pats a few weeks ago and tell me how many of the "solid pats fans" are in the stands for that one.
How much traffic are people going to beat when 20,000 leave at the same time halfway through the 4th quarter? What a joke. I stayed thru the monday night miracle and drove back from Buffalo from my in-laws saturday night so I could make the game and was in the parking lot by 8:30. Need to beat the traffic---beat it and stay home.
For those of you season ticket holders that go to the games half the time. I will take your season tickets for half the price. It only seems fair. :drunk:
So many bitter non season ticket holders in this thread. Obviously I can't speak for the whole stadium but where I sit it's pretty much all the same people and they come every week. I understand you're frustrated that you can't get tickets but this constant bashing of the fan base has got to end.
Not only that but if all these bashers have such a problem get your a**es to the game. You can always scalp tickets in the parking lot and if you wait you will rarely pay over ticket price unless it's a big game. In addition, the official Jets ticket exchange often times has tickets available. I've had season tickets for about 15 years or so, but before that never missed a game thanks to scalping. Quit complaining and come join us diehards, the I can't get tickets excuse is really kind of lame....
I think they're appropriate given the name of the the team, and not as bad as the shrapnel that rained down on me from the fireworks every time they went off.
I sit right behind you and agree entirely. The difference between the Jets and other franchises is that with Jet fans, the primary reason to go to a game is to get drunk with your buddies and act like a$$holes, as opposed to rooting for the team. Of course this is because the Jets have not put a product on the field worth rooting for since Super Bowl 3. However, since 1997, that has not been the case as the Jets have had the best 10 year run in their history. Unfortunately the tailgate mentality hasn't changed and won't change until they flush basically the entire current season ticket holding fan base out. This is the primary reason I was in favor of the WSS. It was my hope that the absence/lack of tailgating and increase in ticket prices / PSLs would result in all those drunk idiots giving up their tickets. Now that we are staying in NJ, that won't happen. People will continue to come early to drink (to avoid the traffic) and stay late and drink (to avoid the traffic). That and they still have the nerve to walk in 10 minutes into the 1st quarter in the middle of the play stumbling for their seat. God forbid anyone actually wait until the play is over instead of standing in the aisle obstructing everyone's view.
Wow, somebody got injured by them a while back, I thought they would have fixed that problem by now. Jeez....
great post. i had to give up my season tix, but i still would be at every game start to finish if i had them. The people who leave early to be the traffic when its a close game just sicken me. But its fine if its a blow out on either side. Speaking of empthy seats at kickoff, im fine with that because most of the tailgaters are going in but it has to be packed by the second quater.
For those that say that PSL's will drive the drunk idiots out are totally wrong. The PSL's will drive out the common fan/long time season tix holder, and Big Corporations will now have handle on the majority of tickets giving or selling them to MORE Drunk idiots.
Youve been going to games for 40 years and this is your big gripe? Get a hold of yourself superfan. After our great performance ON THE FIELD this is what you came up with? Talk about crying like a little girl. Incidentally, theres no way in hell the place was only 25% full at kickoff. (not from section 323) You better get your eyes checked. You should be watching the game instead of the crowd anyway since you are such a great fan. You sound like one of those guys that cheer and get loud when we have the ball? If you want to complain complain about all of the noise when we are on offense. Get a clue.
And also, not fully understanding the gripe of this thread...what is there..a 10 year waiting list? Are those the fans we are so patiently waiting for to fill up all the seats at 12:30 for a 1pm game? Or should we say thanks to all of those corps. that never show up at the games so that we have a soldout stadium..and a 10 year waiting list so our owner doesnt move our asses to hollywood. You cant judge a fanbase by how loud they are or how many people show up. Lets face it. Look in the mirror tonite and just come to grips with the understanding we are NEW YORK JET FANS. Just like the Net fans..or Devil fans...we have less of a true fan base. If we needed to sell out 42 games a year the Jets wouldnt even be here. And this tiny little fan base has been through a lot of losing and a lot of teasing. So excuse them if they fail to get up for the mighty Texans. We are burnt out baby.
Well I live in Las Vegas but I've made it to at least 1 away a year and yeah I did attend a home game just last week. It's not as easy as saying get your asses there, most normal people don't show up to games they don't have tickets too. In fact if not for your post I wouldn't know that scalpers aren't ripping people off.
Maybe one of the reasons the seats were only 25% full at kickoff was cause it took a good 45 minutes to get thru the security checks to get in. It amazes me that we all waited in line while the attendants made everyone unscrew the tops of water/soda bottles and threw the caps away. I heard alot of the people leaving saying they wanted to beat the traffic. We stayed inside to the end, they tailgated after the game for over an hour, and still were sitting in traffic as soon asd we hit the turnpike. That stadium is a horror to get out of. But it was a good game so it was all worth it.
Well 1st off. I get right in. I go in about 12:15 at 1pm games and 3:15 at 4 games. 2nd we need the security and beating the traffic is a sorry excuse cause u never beat it unless u wait till about an hour and half after the game...
