I can't understand how people are convincing themselves that someone who missed TWO SEASONS because of a MASSIVE injury has upside.
I'm ok with this as long as they have a younger option(preferably one of Rosen/Darnold/Mayfield) waiting to take over when the time comes whether that's week 1 or week 10 of the 2018 season.
They're guaranteeing him starter already? So does that mean if the Jets take a rookie at 6, he has zero shot at being named starter? I'm generally one of the positive guys, but I'm very nervous about whats going on now.
its a gamble but hopefully its a financially sound gamble. if so, i think its worth it. would we rather have hack/petty OR teddy and a first round QB. even on 1 leg bridgewater shows more than petty. hell he probably shows more than hack with no legs.
I do. Time for be to pack my bags and go back to fucking Kurdistan. Mac is an idiot and Bowles is double idiot. 10 mil for a 39 year old QB? Give me a break. Give me a fucking break.
Wouldn’t this still be cheaper at that position than if they had signed Cousins and a guy like McCown/Bridge. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I could see bringing McCown back as insurance + an extra coach on the field, except that Morton and his offense got canned. I don't see the value of having McCown and Teddy if neither is experienced in the offense.
When Bradford is getting $20 mil, McCown should be getting $10 mil. It’s one year... who gives a shit?
I like this if the plan is also to draft a QB high in the 1st round. If the plan is to roll with these two and Hack, or these two, Hack and Rudolph or a QB in the 3rd or 4th round, then eff that!
I seriously don't see how it isn't worth it. We will have a blue chip talent, another young guy with legit starting experience, and a great mentor who can play. No pressure on anyone. McCown comes off the books next year. What's the problem?
Mo seriously. 10 mil for a 39 year old QB? So Cardinals are stupid. Does that mean Jets have to be stupid as well? Who gives a shit? I do... Use your money wisely God damn it.
I can't wait for the "Quarterback Competition" this year! Judging by last years' drama filled contest at QB, this year should be at least as competitive. #Can'tWait!
well it does now look like there is a good chance that mccown is the opening day starter for the 2nd year in a row. Ugh. things can change but being in the NY/NJ market, good college QB's coming out over the past few years, and the team chronically suffering at the QB position forever - fans are not going to have a lot of patience come week one next september. though IMO it clinches them taking a QB in round 1. so at least we'll be done with the QB projects. do want a home grown QB so they need to step it up.
Go ahead and be mad. Bringing back McCown and drafting a QB at 6 overall and having him learn from McCown is a win to me. Mayfield, Allen, Rosen...whatever. That's the plan.
