His problem is consistency. He can make some great plays then will follow that up with 2 PI's on the same drive. But yea, I could do without him.
Agreed; I imagine he'd have a strong drive to redeem his image after the Super Bowl benching, particularly playing against the Pats twice a year
The issue is mac can't be so picky....it's not even time to legally sign FA and half the good ones are spoken for. He must be on vacation till tomorrow at 4 when he will start signing FA's ....jeez.
Some of the bottom tier teams are already signing players and made trades. Chicago and Cleveland aren’t much better but at least they are out there trying to improve. Does Mac honestly think this is good team that he can solely mistaken? If so, he will wonder why he gets fired after next year....
We absolutely need to sign at least 1 top CB on the market, im still calm but if that doesn't get done I will be in panic mode.
I betcha if you called Mac's phone it will have a message saying "I will be out of the office till 4pm Wednesday."
If he gives out a contract he doesn't feel good about to a player he doesn't feel good about, he'll be criticized for overspending. However, he also cannot be John Idzik and sign Dimitri Patterson to fix the CB issue and sit on a ton of cap space. I also don't want him to get picky over a couple million dollars here and there if that's what the difference is. Who knows? I'm a bit discouraged about losing Burton and probably ASJ along with Richburg, but none of the rest is a surprise at all. I'm trying to reserve judgment for the time being
That can be worked on in this years draft/next year. We may not be able to address every need in this off season, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't fit some pieces in the puzzle.
Yes, probably only 2-3 years at best, but some have said his play wasn't so solid on a good Rams' D this year. The thing is there are a number of younger CBs (around 26 years old) that could possibly give the Jets 5-6 years of solid play. I'm just not sure which are press, man coverage-type CBs and which are zone CBs.
Having a top CB tandem improves your pass rush considerably because the QB can't just throw at will if his receivers are covered more often which gives the DL longer to throw the QB on his ass.
Cleveland has been making trades, not signing anybody yet The Bears can sell having a rookie QB and a great backfield in place at least
He's older, but yes I probably would. If nothing else, he should be fired up to play the Pats twice a year. Do you know if the following CBs are good fits for our press/man-coverage scheme? With the exception of Carrie, who's 27, the rest are all 26. Nickell Robey-Coleman E.J. Gaines Travis Carrie Bashaud Breeland
I honestly do not. Breeland is ehhh.. My cousin is a Redskin fan and I remember him always complaining of him being a liability.
