If we get Kirk Cousins, there will be no need to trade up. If we don't get Cousins, it will cost a fortune of draft picks to move up from 6 to 1. 6 to 3 or 4 would be much more manageable. Is there a Quarterback in this draft class that this organization is 110%, hell 200%, sure on/absolutely sure will be a franchise Quarterback? If the answer is no, don't do it. Don't move up to 1.
Trade the number 6 overall, the high 2nd & the 4th round pick and the 2019 1st round pick. To CLE for the rights to number 1 and select USC's Sam Darnold. proceed to be good for the next 10 seasons

We aren't good enough to even be thinking about trading up....because of our horrendous draft quality in recent years we need starters/depth at most positions. You can make an argument that we have a need at every position on online, except RT. Need to add at least one quality receiver and running back. Dline is a need again, at least 1 solid player there. Corner is a need. Still need a linebacker/edge rusher. Possibly a MLB if Davis leaves. I'm not sold on Jenkins as a TE... Finding an elite QB would be amazing but with this roster, devoid of talent and depth, we still need to keep our picks.
I say use 5 picks like Phillie did to get Wentz ...Do it Mac and you are looking at a smorsgasboard of talent

I disagree. If we were "good enough" to warrant trading up, then we'd be nowhere near the top 5 picks and wouldn't be able to trade up because of the massive number of high picks it would take to move up. QB is the most important position on the team. You get one when you get the opportunity. In spite of their lousy play most of the last 8 seasons, they haven't been in a position other than 2014 and last season to get a potential FQB. Many years there is only 1 or 2 really good QBs, and some years there are none. While I agree that we have a lot of holes and also need improved depth, we can add those later. Depth and other starters are much easier to get than FQBs.
I’d love to see Mac have some conviction, identify the QB he wants to gamble his job on and go up and get him.
We are attempting to build through the draft after purging the roster. I would trade back and acquire a late first and maybe a 2nd and 3rd rounder or 2 second rounders. We need: Cb Edge rusher Ol Qb Lb Etc....

If the Browns want to trade out of the first pick that for sure means that there's a player that's well worth what the Browns would require to acquire him. The Browns are somehow more retarded than the Jets so therefore they're automatically going to do the wrong thing with the most important decision of their season. That said the question becomes whether it's feasible to jump to one all the way from 6 to get that player or if one of the teams in closer striking distance will just be able to capitalize on Cleveland stupidity. My feeling is the Jets should be taking a long look at the possibility.
Lol a reporter asked Dorsey if he's open to trading the pick. What do you want him to say? No? It's common sense to say yes because maybe some team will give a ridiculously good offer. Saying yes and actually trading the pick are two very different things.

Not sure about first overall but most teams would be wise to move up for Barclay or maybe Nelson. Both look like the real deal.
