Would bell at 3 years at $16M a year (plus fake years at end) be something the jets would consider? I believe Jets will have $100M this year and more projected for the next. If the Jets have to spend money, is he a good play?
Oh man he’d be just what the Doctor ordered in terms of being a returner & short area option in the passing game. Not a starter at this point but could be very good in the slot on all sorts of situations & scenarios. Really want someone who can catch short, make somebody miss to move the chains, break a few big ones & in the red zone. The Jets Returner issues speak for themselves. If he gets released sign this beast!
i wouldn't spend that much on a RB personally. I mean bell deserves his payday for sure but still RB is too easy to find
His best years - or at least the majority of them - are behind him. The Jets can find somebody nearly as good, if not better, for much much less, plus his attitude isn't very good. I'd say no.
curious to see what the Eagles do with Foles - though as someone pointed out FOles and Wentz combined are cheaper than 16 starting QBs in the NFL so I expect they may well just keep him another year.
I don't know if I have commented on this yet, but the Jets should go after some young Olineman (25-28 years old) that can help protect Hack and/or any other QBs we may draft. I still want the Jets to target a QB at 6 and take Sony Michel in the 2nd Round. I think that would be a good start in reshaping the offensive woes that the Jets have had for so long.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...o-potential-trade-offers-for-martavis-bryant/ Jets have reportedly inquired, would be a nice gift for Capt Kirk!! His contract for 2018 is 700k, definitely worth pursuing, maybe a conditional 2-3rd......
He's a good receiver for sure, but his attitude is questionable and he's had off field issues. It would be a nice upgrade, however. The Jets still don't have a true #1 WR and I think Bryant is talented enough, he's just behind one of the best in the league. Personally I would only make this deal if 1. The Jets sign Cousins and 2. They trade down in the draft.
Jets will need to do homework on his attitude, work ethic, ...if he wants the Damn Ball, give it to him!
Gotta play the odds, between him and Robby the chances double that you will get a full season out of a wr without any trouble. Am I missing something though, where does it say the Jets inquired?
That's only assuming Bryant's behavior and Anderson's behavior are independent of each other. If they interact, the two of them could blow up the locker room and maybe even MetLife Stadium.
I want the jets to stay clear of Bryant, let someone else help the Steelers accumulate draft picks. Robbie Anderson ceiling is much higher than Bryant's. Even with Rothlesberger as his QB he can't get himself to a level of professionalism that would force the Steelers to keep him. Robbie has had two JAG as his QBs and has shown the type of promise of a top notch receiver, if Jets had a top 10 QB, Anderson would be outperforming Bryant by a very large margin. No thanks to Bryant!
