If it was just about the money he'd have taken the Skins offer last year of $23M a year including $53 million in guarantees and $72M guaranteed for injury. Cousins is likely to want to be in a place that has a good chance to win and that extends a deal in that range. When he signs there the contract will be a major slap in the face for the Skins, which is probably also part of his agenda at this point.

Im not the type to blindly bash a player. I did my research. I watched tape looked at stats, compared stats to games. I dont like what i see. Very inconsistent but it seems more average and bad than good. Just when it looks good, it looks spectacular, so people forget about the bad decisions on the previous 3 drives that made him have to lead that winning drive in the first place. Maybe I should have been more clear, Starting QBs not average players. The 4.4 takes into account back ups, practice squad and UDFAs, guys who never make a roster or start a game.

Do any of you remember what it was like going into gameday with confidence that your team had as good of a chance to win against any opponent and not if some miracle occurred i.e. punt blocked, int return for td etc?? We have been so horrible at qb for such a long time we have become self destructive. We are getting rather brownish around here with our long running tradition of horrible qb's. Lets take a look at this inspiring group: Josh McCown Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, Bryce Petty, Michael Vick, Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy, Kellen Clemens... Brett Farve and god forbid we mention Hack as we wasted a 2nd round pick on that bum who hasn't even taken a sack. Its been 10!!! years since we have had a "competent" qb. Sorry Sanchez lovers, I will admit he sparked a few time but he was never consistent qb. Everyone else has been beyond horrible and their statistics show it. I want to enjoy football again, Cousins gives us the best chance to be competitive and produce enjoyable football for our fan base. Will we ever get the super bowl with him? Who knows, great qb's barely make the super bowl twice in their careers, some never sniff the holy land. Cousins is good enough to build a team around and give you a realistic chance of making the playoffs each and every year. We have to jump on this.

Wow tense crowd...regardless of stats he is currently the BEST option of all free agent QBs out there. Bar None. There is also the fact before Fitz came on board Mac inquired about a trade for Cousins so the Jets have already have shown interest in him albeit 2-3 years ago. With that said he has only improved. I think it all depends on what the Jets FO wants out of next year. Do they want to go with a rookie and bridge vet for a year or two before the rookie can take over or do we want to put wins on the table immediately. Remember this team all out blows at development of QBs. With cousins he's there already. I think it's alot of money hell yea. But I think the Jets will take a run at him. Regardless of what the people on this forum think.
