I’d rather see Buffalo make playoffs. It will be harder for them to trade up in the draft from a playoff team draft slot. They aren’t doing anything if they get in anyway.
Gronkowski got to finish the season with 69 catches, his favorite number. Eagles offense is a complete mess without Wentz. They got HFA but it's not worth much without a QB.
Now that Jets lost, who do we want here to lose to improve our stock? Did Texans losing helped at all?
If anything it hurt, since they finished 4-12. The top 4 are set (Cleveland, Giants, Indy, Cleveland via Houston). We want Tampa Bay, San Francisco, and Denver to win to end up with #5.
The Rams and the Seahawks are suddenly very worried about the future of the NFC West - with Garoppolo the Niners suddenly look very good. Jets looking good for #7. Rooting hard for Denver and Tampa Bay to make it #5.
Go Go SFO!!!! If I have things figured correctly. Pretty sure Tampa can lose and we'd still draft ahead of them. the Buc's currently have a SOS of .559 to the Jets .523 and I don't think the Buc's SOS will drop 36 points. Denver and SFO HAVE to lose for us to draft ahead of them. I'm going to assume that TPA outcome won't effect our draft since their SOS won't drop much if they lose to the Saints., may even go up. If DEN and SFO win I'm 99% certain the Jets will draft 5th. If DEN Loses and SFO win's I'm 99% certain the Jets draft 6th. If DEN wins and SFO loses I think the Jets would still draft 5th, but it could be 6th. If DEN Loses and SFO loses I think the Jets would draft 6th, but it could be 7th, it all depends on how much SFO's SOS rises after the game.. Currently the SOS for SFO is .518 to the Jets .523. I'm pretty sure losing to a (then) 12-4 Rams would move the SFO SOS up more than .05 points so I'me pretty confident the outcome of the SFO game doesn't effect our draft position. I'm 99% certain the Jets will draft 5th or 6th.
It can only be good for competitor teams to win, and Tampa Bay must win for the Jets to draft ahead of them. The things to root for are a Tampa Bay win (currently trailing by 1 point), a San Francisco win (currently leading by 14 points), and a Denver win (currently trailing by 4 points). It's somewhere between #5 and #8 depending on how those go.
Good young offensive minded HC with a good QB, which by the way was one of only 2 QBs that Kyle Shannahan said he would have drafted that year as a potential FQB. The other was Derek Carr.
