After releasing Mo Wilkerson for being invisible since getting his big contract. The Jets will select Da'Ron Payne, Alabama DT with the #6 pick. The 5th DT in the first round since 2011. When asked why they picked him. They will say, " He was the best player on the board"
this joke gets old real quick you can say what you want, but the DTs we've selected (with the exception of Coples) have been good football players
There will be and his name is Lamar Jackson. Jets will look to pair Barkley from Penn State and Jackson from Louisville. From there, the Jets will win 4 straight superbowls.
Just a guess but I'm thinking the Jets will pick somewhere from 11 to 18 or so. I think they will trade down to the low 20's and take the best QB on their board after the big two (whoever they are) go in the top 3 picks.
Right now we have so many problems that any pick other than safety, defensive end, or special teams should sound great to any Jets fan. We seem to need help at almost every position.
If the next Warren Sapp (speedy pass rushing DT) you take him. Otherwise find someone that can help us win.
If you think the Jets, as currently constructed, should draft any D player then you clearly don't get the point of the sport, forget understanding the draft. Every other team in the league will be laughing at us.
SO you dont think this team is capable of drafting a player on defense with there first pick? You fool. Do you live under a rock, every team already does laugh at the jets probably.
Being capable of vs. what they should do are two entirely different things. Reading comprehension, you fool. If you think they should draft a defensive player with their first pick in the upcoming draft then you should never be allowed to post again. Of course we know what the Jets are capable of. That's why the team is in the mess they are in today, fool.
If 2000 Bill Parcells used his first two picks on defense (DE - Shaun Ellis and OLB - John Abraham). He still managed to find Chad Pennington, Anthony Becht, and Laverneous Coles in the same draft. Taking defense first does not mean neglecting the offense if you have a plan.
