"The cream don't always rise to the top in the NFL draft. " oh I see so if Darnold Rosen are top first round you are gonna pass??? You try to sound like Mr Know it all but You are just jerk who tries to bully and intimidate Posters were cutting you up for defending Bowles do you deny that? You are the worst poster because of your insulting hostile posts against everybody including Railbird and myself..when you cant win you call people names like dumbass and Mehta supporters ..do you realize what you do are are too far gone? yesterday half the board was telling you that I am not afraid of you and your anger Pats troll..come bring it punk Speaking of rant isnt it time to take your Lithium?
For a QB like Stidham or Jackson, if I can get more value and still grab a good QB prospect, then I think the Jets are well on their way. Same with Cousins. Stidham with this stock increasing looking like a top 24 pick, he's probably one of the more accurate QBs in this draft. NCJetsFan and Ralebird(at least get his name right) appear to be your only allies bud. They also belong in the same garbage bin as yourself. BTW I highly doubt that is half of the board People can disagree w/ me on Bowles all they want. That's fine by me, we can agree to disagree but this is what separates me from you. I can have a logical debate, you cannot.
So in other words you want your cake & eat it too. You are aware that there is very little chance that any of these QBs last beyond MAYBE early round 2 due to the drastically limited supply compared to demand for high celing QBs,right? The only way I see that changing is a pre draft hiccup ala medical/off the field/failed drug test. Are you suggesting trading down a few spots & then taking the QB?Maybe trading up back into round 1? Otherwise I think you’re expecting way too much & are in essence trying to get cute. This is absolutely PIVOTAL for the jets to get right. They have to land a QB not extend their means to try & fill another hole while getting lucky that their QB falls to them at a later pick. Frankly we’ve been down that road w Geno Smith.Either take the QB or don’t.
My point is, the Jets don't need a Rosen or Darnold to build a winning roster. If I can get a difference maker like a Barkley or an Edge Rusher, then trade back up and take a Stidham or Jackson to me that's a win. Again, there are many scenarios that can happen here. Maybe Mac wants to keep those 2nd rounders and doesn't want to trade up. Jets can still get their QB if they are selecting 7th or so. You and NY have the same thoughts that if the Jets don't draft Rosen or Darnold then they are screwed, I highly disagree.
I don't want to speak for Kurt, but I don't think he's saying it's Rosen/Darnold or bust. I think he's like me in that getting a potential FQB is CRITICAL, and too important to risk "getting cute" as he says. Kurt will correct me if I'm wrong. Of course I would LOVE your scenario where the Jets can grab Barkley and then a very strong prospect QB to pair with him, but again as Kurt says, while this draft may be the deepest in QBs in a while, it's not bottomless, and there's a lot of teams that are either looking, or wouldn't pass up the chance to a take blue chip QB if they fell in their lap - you know BPA? Some teams actually realize that the BPA can be on "O"! The only guy I would gamble on taking - if Rosen/Stidham/Darnold are off the board - would be Barkley, and then I would be crossing my fingers and holding my breath until I grabbed that FQB prospect with my second pick, banking on that Barkley would greatly help that QB grow into his ability. Still, that's a big risk. And to me the #! priority is for them to find that FQB to take them to the championship, NOT just the playoffs. Of course if they sign Cousins, or Luck (YUCK!), then it changes the equation. It's not the route I prefer, but if they went this way, I would still want them to take a blue chip QB prospect, to groom, as well as insurance in case the vet falters and isn't as good as advertised.
Jets definitely need a shot to the arm in terms of the offense and I agree. QB is definitely in my plans as well, however I was mentioning that the Jets could trade back up and grab their guy because Jackson or Stidham won't be drafted in the top 15 picks IMO. It's a great opportunity. I don't think Kurt likes any QBs outside of Rosen or Darnold. I haven't seen him mention anyone else. As long as the Jets get a QB either via FA or draft and get a Center worth a damn, then I will be happy at the end of the day.
I understand your POV, and you might be right, but I really don't think Stidham or Jackson fall that far, and I'm skeptical of being able to trade back into the 1st high enough to get them. That said, somebody like Mayfield or one of the other "Tier 2" guys might well fall far enough to get with the 2nd pick and I could live with Barkley and one of them.
People still think Jackson can't play QB, he might slide lower then Watson did last year. Stidham, we all like him. he's gaining traction, but I think at best his increases his stock to a late first; early 2nd.
I’m ok w everyone of the QBs that’s been considered as high potential & am on record as such.Im not gonna be fussy as long as the value is reasonable & Bowles actually is on board w developing/playing them. Do I like Rosen & Darnold more than the others?Yes I do.They both fit the WCO,are used to being in a large market & are the most dynamic IMO. Do I want them to trade up for either if the price is right?Absolutely. But I also like Allen as well as Jackson quite a bit. I’m highly skeptical of us prioritizing any other position in round 1.Are there scenarios where they’ll have to?Of course.in those cases it better damn well be offense related. I cringe & almost puke everytime you hint at them going Defense. If they do that I’m done following for the foreseeable future.Weve had almost 10 years of 1st round defenders to fill the holes.Enough is enough. I’m also skeptical of worrying too much about where we take the likes of Allen/Jackson. This will be a highly competitive game of chess on draft day w teams going for broke to land their signal caller.Expect drastic trades, reaches and the like. QB must be option 1,2 & 3.If they wanna Trade up later in the 1st to grab another position so be it.But I want the team as singular minded as possible going into round 1. How deflating would it be if they took another position tried to trade back into the 1st round & failed?Seeing all those other teams including possibly divisional opponents coming away w the one thing we all want bc we tried to outsmart ourselves would be a new level of purgatory I don’t wish to experience.getting nit picky about taking a guy at say 10 when we want him at 15 could be a fatal misjudgement.QB round 1 or death.
That would be a blow too hard to bear! That's my fear as well. I still cringe at how "smart" the Jets were by taking Ken O'Brien over Marino. Genius! I pray they don't try to get that "smart" again.
I have let a lot of your shit pass and have taken the high road, but enough is enough. Dude, you were a lot better poster and a lot nicer poster when you were smoking. I think you should start back. I was wrong to support your quitting. You never appreciated it and the first time I disagreed with you, you turned around and attacked me. You've been a complete asshole and jerk ever since. You're not the only trash on this board by a long shot, but you're one of the smelliest, worst bit of trash.
So what you aren't going to PM that I don't know what I am talking about? I find your act the funniest of them all. You used to be much more tolerable. Anytime someone disagreed with you, there goes NCJetsfan running his mouth talking shit, making personal attacks. Sorry, but the nicotine withdrawals are gone. Not going back to smoking, it smells awful. I am sure someone cares about your little Jackal and Hyde act. Don't pull that defensive act, BS.
I agree with the overall tenor of your post, but can you imagine this board if Mac were to trade up to the end of the first, top of the 2nd round, or use one of his 2nd round picks on a QB that was rated as being a 4th or 5th round pick? It would be the Hack fiasco all over again. I want them to get the QB they want in the 1st round, and he'd better be one of the top-rated QBs. I'm sick of bringing in FA QBs. I want the Jets to find their own young QB and develop him. But I tell you what, if Bowles is back, I'd almost wish they would sign Cousins and use the 1st pick on Chubb or one of the top two LTs, and basically ignore the offense again otherwise. Maybe Cousins would be a lot less effective than posters here think, and that, combined with ignoring the offense again, would be enough to get Bowles and Mac fired. I still think Mac deserves to stay and be able to hire his own HC, but if he's willing to settle for Cousins and draft another D player with our 1st pick (even though I have been screaming for an elite pass rusher for years), I'd want him gone in that scenario. He has given Bowles too much and not improved the offense in the draft. In that scenario, at least the Jets would potentially finally have their elite pass rusher or LT of the future, Bowles and Mac would be gone, and we'd at least have a chance of hiring an experienced offensive-minded HC and a GM that would focus more on offense in the draft, and then hopefully, in 2019 the Jets would finally draft their FQB.
Jets always go BPA that fits a need under this regime. It is a gamble, perhaps not worth taking, but I want to come away with a signature draft this year. I want to see key positions get addressed. I probably did get a little cute in terms of trying to make the value argument. BTW, I am not looking at defense at all in RD1 this year. I am more-so looking at a Connor Williams from Texas, an excellent LT in terms of pass and run protection. You got Barkley, a 3 down back. We need to shore up this line, and I think the running game should get addressed as well. Then trade back up and grab Stidham / Jackson. That's how a team like the Vikings or Raiders came into play. It's a tough scenario but I believe it can be done. Imagine getting a Connor Williams [Pick 5 to 7], trade back into the first, grab Jackson or Stidham. It's going to cost less to move up in the middle of the first. You then got an additional second round pick that I want to address and use to draft a C. The Raiders had a similar draft. Mack, Carr and Gabe Jackson. I want something similar. IDK if there are any good lineman in FA, but we can't put out a new QB without first fixing the center position. LT needs love too.
You are such a dumbass to think that using PM is a bad thing. I've used PM in the past to try to keep disputes out of threads as no one wants to read them. PMs are where such disputes belong, not in threads, but of course, you're too effing stupid and classless to know that. You are one of the biggest low-life, lying pieces of shit that I have ever had the displeasure of running across in my life. I try to disagree in an agreeable fashion with others. It's only when they make it personal and attack me, that I have responded in kind. I have most, if not all, of you dumbasses that have made personal attacks against me on ignore now, so my life is infinitely better. The only time I ever see one of your stupid posts is when I click to see ignored posts and see what other posters are replying to. Respond if you like, but I won't see it, loser.
LMAO, you obviously don't go outside enough to make such a statement. Don't lie BTW, it makes you look really ugly. How many times, have I seen you blow up at a poster because they didn't agree with you? That's exactly why I don't quote, post or have any interaction with you. My btw, my obligatory picture: Bye Felicia. Time to get back on topic.
I'd love to get Cousins in FA and draft Thorson or Stidham in round 2. Would also like to come out with 2 offensive lineman in the draft. If can land either Notre Dame Olineman in round 1 that would be huge for the overall Offense.
