It's bigger than just McCown. Signing him was tacit admission the other two aren't ready or aren't good enough. And they may not ever be. This is what, Petty's 4th year? And for whatever the reasons they're not, that indicates a much bigger problem.
Let's remember the Curtis Martin years were all about a run first team. Still, I have difficulty believing that never happened when O'Brien had Toon and Walker to throw to.
Do you really believe that ? Do you not think the brother can't use a telephone and discuss or receive his orders, I guess it will be a bit like Trump giving up his businesses to become president
For the time being I do. You can't be an ambassador and also be an owner of an NFL team. If we are using Trump's analogy, Trump's been losing a lot of money in his businesses. Woody maybe a dumbass, but I don't think he's Trump dumb.
I agree. The mixed message is also the problem. Youth in every position, except QB. And not like when they signed Farve who had previously been a pro bowler. They signed a 39 year old QB who has a horrendous record and keeps getting bounced around. As fans you aren't sure what they are trying to do. I also agree that Hack and Petty are not good, but I would be much more excited to watch them play than McCown. At least there is a chance they could pan out.
I truly do think the Bowles and Macc preferred for one of either Petty or Hack (probably Hack more) to win the job but their play on the field was telling. I think Jets could have gotten away with starting Petty over McCown but I do think, sadly enough, that McCown is the best QB on the team. I can't bregrudge Bowles for going with the best option, but I do think that he favors playing veterans over rookies if he has the choice. If we are out of playoff contention it will be interesting to see what Bowles decides to do because ultimately if he keeps McCown in I think its because he's scared of being fired.
Yeah, if they had somehow talked P. Manning into coming back for a year and sat Petty and Hack behind him, I still wouldn't like it, but I could understand it. But McCown???? If Petty/Hack really aren't better than him - and I guess they aren't - then Macc and Bowles have really fucked up.
Yep. The Jets owner has major Brexit concerns, I guess. He certainly isn’t paying attention to this particular “Jet” investment. I’ve said it before, but Ibwould much rather have an involved-but-misguided owner like Dolan than a peek-a-boo guy like Johnson. (Neither are ideal, but...)
I’m not watching these degenerate fucks tomorrow. I’m not watching any more games this season. If I see dick mouth Todd Bowles grin into the camera like he just realized he doesn’t have milk for his cereal I’m going to launch a remote through my tv.
