Well that's a fair assessment. It's just frustrating as I've said, that this all was basically over until Trump and now Pence inserted themselves into it. Pence doing what he did to steal the thunder from Peyton Manning was just as disrespectful as any of this fricken nonsense.
You're crazy, nobody cares and NOBODY SHOULD care what the players are protesting when they disrespect the country. They could be protesting the lack of puppy shelters or not enough cancer research, it wouldn't matter one fucking iota. As soon as the spit leaves your mouth towards the flag you are enemy #1 there is nothing to talk about
Spit towards flag? lmao... yea..ok. U really think taking a knee is equivalent to spitting on the flag? er boy... Like I said, even when it's explained, it's the refusal to want to understand. Kneeling doesn't disrespect the country.... In China, Russia and N.Korea ..yeah...you'd probably be dead...but here ain't there.... Yet.
I agree it's not about the military etc. but why don't they protest with their fat wallets and really make a difference
Now you are starting to understand why they truly kneel. Trump and Pence, run their mouths constantly, what good are they bringing to this country outside of hatred and ignorance? Now Cowboy players are discussing what Jerry said in a team only meeting. How many games will DEM BOYZ win this year? I got 8. Will that franchise continue to be an attractive destination for players?
The Cowgirl players should test that Cokehead Jerry Jones' proposal. For example would he really bench Dak Prescott and roll with Kellen Moore in a crucial divisional matchup over the 2 minute national anthem before the game? .... Yes? No? I'm gonna go with "no fucking way"
He has to if he wants to ever be taken seriously again. Funny how the owners were locking arms and taking knees with the players only two weeks ago. Now they want to stop the National Anthem protests. The problem is, the anthem protests have become less about what they were originally about and are now about defying authority and doing it because someone is telling you not to. If they wanted to make a difference they would meet with community leaders and police departments and invest tons of money in correcting the root of the issue. Instead, they're in a childish stand off with the President and Roger Goodell and the owners and what not. It's the whole 'YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!' mentality. When in fact, yes. Yes they can tell you what to do. They are your employer.
Damontre Moore and David Irving raised their fists Sunday. So let me get this straight, you can't kneel, but you can raise your fist?
People haven't turned their attention to that yet. When/if the kneeling stops and more players turn to raising a fist, a fit will be thrown about that as well. They'll find anything to cling onto.
Plenty of them have. It's just not being reported, by the media that controls the narrative at large, does not mean any of this is not happening. And the players themselves cannot fix the root cause of an issue that has been a result of 250 years of injustice. It has to begin from the top of our government. It's silly to act otherwise.
They also have contracts. Whether they can or cannot tell you what to do is largely dependent on the precise language in those contracts and how that language has been enforced in the past.
The NFLPA is reportedly joining in the meeting with the owners. The NFL players should be smart enough to realize that if the product is hurting in terms of ratings that'll eventually come back to hurt their pockets as well. Maybe not in the immediacy. But it will eventually cost them money. And certain teams may be less likely to want to sign players that kneel.
Jones is a little bitch. He wouldn't dare bench a star player because as soon as Dallas starts to suck, he'll lose revenue from the bandwagoners.
As much as I don't like the protesting..... are people that are firmly opposed to the kneeling really going to be satisfied if all players are forced to stand? Is it satisfactory to watch people being forced to do it against their will?
