Well that's a shitty start. Severino is obviously jacked up right now. Missing badly. Hopefully he'll hunker down. Believe I heard the Twins are 4th in runs scored this year? Twins are upper cutting everything. Even the smooth swinging Mauer.
Couldn't have started worse. I hate Girardi's pen management but he had to go get him. He's getting tagged
Even though he's Dutch I foresee him having some wet sloppy sex with a thick Dominican lass from the Bronx tonight.
You got it, Ren. Is this not the worst broadcasting crew in sports? The chick is brutal and sometimes she goes multiple innings without saying anything. Aaron Boone is a dweeb. They make Collinsworth look like a Hall of Famer.
Not so sure about that. These gutless twins are about to get out of bases loaded no one out to keep this a game going into the eighth.
I think there were 83 pitches thrown in the first inning. Hitters' ump didn't help matters. Very rare to see both teams score 3 runs in the first inning of an elimination game. Castro managed to go 0/4, leaving 4 on base. Ellsbury 0/4, leaving 5 on base. Frazier 0/4, not leaving any on. Yankees 9 hits and 5 walks. Twins 9 hits and 4 walks.
Why do you say this? I tend to think they played a pretty damn good game. The Yankees just have a much better bullpen than them and it showed. Santana's first inning was inexcusable though and he used the long sitdown as his crutch. To come out of the gates and walk Gardner immediately after your team has all of the momentum? He's better than that. You expect that from a young pitcher not a 34 year old veteran. Greinke off to a good start btw. The top of this Rockies lineup features the best third basemen and RBI man in baseball over the past three years. Chase Blackmon is also a hitting machine. He does everything you want out of your centerfielder and then some. Might see a pitching duel after last nights hitting fest though.
I also hope this was a one time nerves thing for Severino last night. If we're going to do any damage in the playoffs this year we NEED him to be excellent. Why is Cleveland starting Bauer? I don't get it. They don't want Kluber pitching twice in this series? Or even Carrasco? I wonder the reasoning.
