That must be a new thing because I always thought getting your shoulder right in someones gut, wrapping up and driving through them was the best tackling technique. Going low all the time is a sure way to get juked a few times a game.
You realize there are tons of fans on this board that have been rooting for the team since their inception? At the very least since the Super Bowl victory. Being a fan since 1990 isn't a long time in the grand scheme of things. Can we all agree to continue bumping this thread until Adams retires?
I'll say it again ...i hope i was wrong. But I saw what i saw and I haven't drank enough jet fuel or inhaled enough jet fumes to make me unable to state what I see in terms of player or team areas of improvement. I didn't respond to "double down" as one poster stated...someone asked where i was so I reiterated my original position and stated my current hopes.
Before 90 I was bouncing around...so I decided to roll with one team. Now for over half of my life no one who knows me would question my fanhood. Shall I post pics of my basement?
http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2017/09/jamal_adams_hype_appears_justified_jets_film_review.html Look @ the hip swivel (especially right as he hits the 45 yard line) in the "In Pass Coverage..." GIF. Then closes ~25 yards to the defender while the pass is in the air. Fucking text book. @OP smh.
This one is great. Adams knocks the 6'5", 262 lbs Julius Thomas (#89) backwards, while maintaining eye contact on the runner and makes an immediate break to the right for the tackle for loss.
I thought had his very best game as a pro on Sunday. He was all over the field and appears to be becoming the QB for the defense. I have no problem with Adams whatsoever..........
Adams is great. But I ordered a Maye jersey. Played 46 snaps this week, and was targeted 0 times. That already makes him the best Jets second round pick since David Harris, and he's only 3 games in. The curse is lifted!
with adams maye and brooks our safety position is the best it's been in a long time. last time i can remember us being good at safety was jim leonhard and kerry rhodes and even that was iffy. not to mention they are all young and cheap too. it's a position we shouldn't need to address for 4 years minimum
Our last good safety was Jim Leonhard, we haven't had a good defensive QB in the secondary since, and it showed, number of miscommunications went up after we let him go.
