I think at first, they did adopt your stance pretty much. Trump pissed of a lot of people tho with his statements. They know a large base of their audience and players are these people trump offended. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
i didnt think your were a black guy. But keep playing that card i guess. Or whatever it is that moron is accusing you of Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
What's being missed in this is the players doing this and the NFL enabling it has pissed off an enormous amount of people, but Joe Blow doesn't have the platform that an NFL player, owner, or commentator has. All he can do is flip the switch and not buy the tix & merchandise. What the NFL doesn't like is, whereas such losses in attendance, ratings, revenues, etc., can be excused some other way ("It was an election year, bad weather," etc.), rather than people seeing CTE every time there is a vicious hit, and viewing some players insulting them by kneeling - which gets to the core of the NFL itself - the President of the United States cannot be ignored and he's giving voice to a significant portion of the population who don't have the power to call out the NFL. As many people were pissed off by what the President said, just as many (if not more) said "Hell yeah!" and those in the ivory towers at 345 Park better understand that - for better or for worse.
Heres where we disagree, Trump isnt speaking for a significant portion and should be ignored. Why does it piss you off so much? Because theyre black? Because they arent kissing your ass? Im a proud successful black male and although i dont agree with the kneeling, mostly because i find it pointless, im agreeing today. My solution has always been elect a sheriff who promotes these types of things. Equality among police. Its people like you who are driving more and more people to support these things. Hell Jacksonvilles owner took a huge step today. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Seeing how spread fake news with that pic, one can only assume you are a closet CNN fan. You can crawl back to your little safe space now.
That's just a one sided argument that completely ignores or dismisses the other side. As I previously stated, a protest that doesn't influence change in its opponents but galvanizes opposition to it defeats the very purpose of the protest. These protests are merely appealing to people who already agree with the issue. That serves no purpose. Just like athletes chanting in the social media echo chamber that they will refuse to go to the White House. How many people have an opportunity to be face to face with the President, especially a President you disagree with? You want to influence change you meet the President and voice your concerns directly. That's the rational approach if you truly want change. Going to social media and saying you are protesting gets attention and applaud from people who already agree with you, but doesn't influence change from who you need to actually listen.
They aren't made up. They are facts. Go look it up yourself. Half of the players have no clue what they are protesting and just joining in with the crowd mob mentality.
"Because they're black?" Watch it with ad hominem attacks. I guess you missed that it isn't just black players kneeling. Please explain how standing for the flag would be "kissing my ass"? It doesn't impact me at all. Folks can do as they like - on both sides of the issue. But to be blind to the fact that he is speaking for a significant portion - whether you want to believe it or not - considering upwards of 70% have been polled previous objecting to such protests - is ridiculous. For the NFL to think it does not insult a significant portion of their customers, is just as ridiculous. I'll stand for the flag and the anthem. You don't want to, that's your choice. Folks can patronize my business or your business based on those stances, or not.
The point of kneeling isnt to get the politicians to change, it was to promote dialog. To that end it was successful. Now the next step needs to happen. People need to stop pretending inequality doesnt exist and changes need to be made. For example, in south jersey, almost all police forces after these incidents had community days in which they interacted with all members of the community and let people get to know their officers. It was successful. In these areas like southern states where this is common and apparently Minnesota, put people in office who are going to promote these changes is the next step. And to that end thats where we as black people need to step up and make that a priority. We as people all have responsibility to one another, it doesnt matter if youre black, white Hispanic, rich or poor. If we dont help each other society collapses Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I know that it wasnt juat black players kneeling, but the large majority of them, are black. Dont you ever tell me what i need to watch. A poll os hardly indicative of a population because vast geographical and geopolitical differences in any two parts of the United States. So i wouldnt hitch my wagon to that if i were you. Since yoy werent reading between the lines ad clearly, standing fornthe flag has nothing to do with kissing your ass. The kissing your ass part comes from people like you who essentially say, keep your black people problems out of my face. You can deny, but its clear thats your sentiment. Maybe youre not saying screw you for your race, but ignoring it is just the same in some instances. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
You don't have to be a black guy to pull the race card. This is now part of the liberal playbook when someone disagrees with them. Again name calling is another illustration that you yourself have a feeble mind. You can't make an intelligent argument so go ahead and resort to name calling. Fewer brain cells needed and we don't want to have you get a headache!
A simpleton like yourself would be smart enough to provide the link. Regardless "5%" is "5%" they still fought for your rights.
I really hate false statistics, especially out of context. on a per capita basis, aka adjusted for percentage of population etc. Whites killed by whites10.1 per million population Whites killed by blacks 1.8 per million population. blacks killed by whites 4.4 Per million population. but one part that, sadly, does bear true is the 52.3 of blacks killed by blacks per million population. But it's still 3 times more likely that a black is to be killed by a white than a white by a black. When it comes to police shootings, 6.2 per million are black, 2.1 per million population are white. again blacks are roughly 3 times more likely to killed by police than whites per million population. As for those complaining about the peaceful protests during the national anthem? I Know which side of the equation our founding fathers would be on in that argument, they wrote it in to the constitution.
Lmao so you stoop to name calling to say name calling means you have a feeble mind? No see name calling means simply put, we just dont respect you. It had nothing to do with intelligence. But im glad you got a copy of the liberal playbook, cuz mine musta got lost in the mail. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Politicians will only be influenced when their constituents care about the issue. The protests have to change the ideology of the people first; if your protests only galvanize people against your cause because you are combative and antagonistic towards them, you aren't going to get meaningful political action. Which raises another question. What political action are these protests aiming to accomplish? Inequality is simply too broad a claim; most people aren't truly equal in opportunity available to them, wealth or social influence. You think the poor, uneducated backwoods rednecks in West Virginia mining communities feel privileged compared to wealthy black celebrities and athletes? That's not meant to dismiss the obvious inequality in our society, but it's not so black and white, pun intended. I'm white and have never had a positive encounter with police when stopped or pulled over. Cops tend to be fucking assholes with a propensity for dishonesty to everybody. Maybe we should be focused on that issue, in which IMO we are all equal.
Well were in agreement. You have to take an action besides kneeling. Ive been saying this for quite some time. The reality is exactly what you said. Those poor people in WV have quite a bit in common with the poor of Camden, Philadelphia, Baltimore, etc. We need everyone to make the connection and begin a real dialog.
