Hack may have not been very good to begin with but he's completely f'ed now.

He's back there thinking about how to throw the ball when there's a freakin football game going on around him. Even Sanchez and Geno were well beyond that elementary level.

Sackenberg sucks. It is what it is. We're tanking anyway so we'll have a new QB next draft but this guy is terrible.

He's gonna get himself or others hurt he's so bad and out of place. And I was someone who was intrigued by the draft pick. He should not be playing

I agree, and that is always a problem for a young QB with very little NFL experience. I feel given time Hack, with that quick release of his, can make the adjustment. I'm not saying he will be able to over come this deficiency in the next several game encounters , but I'm no where near ready to throw in the towel as most of the darksider's are doing at this point.

  3. Oh no..they are both gone.Neither has any clue about how to build a football team.Mac tried to get cute w the Hack pick which was his one saving grace..but there's no rabbit in the hat.Hes gone. These fools will just prioritize the defense once again. They aren't the people we need to give this offense life.Itll be back to back corners or pass rushers come draft time.

Send these fools on their way.

What dooms Hackenblundr is that he was drafted in 2nd Round!!!!! (A complete asinine move by the rookie GM) So the expectations are WAY up for him.

Frankly I feel sorry for him having a ton of pressure but TBH YOU WOULD MAYBE EXPECT SOME BETTER MECHANICS?? SMH what have the CS been doing with him???????

Watch...he will take his lumps here and leave. Parents will say give it one more shot before 9-5 job applications

A PA Friendly team like Pitt or Philadelphia will pick him up and make him a serviceable back up

My question to the Hackenberg haters, is what did you expect? He was red-shirted last year. Now he has been given a chance with a new OC who was a WR coach since 2011, a terrible O-line, terrible WR and no TE. Not only given a chance, but he was allowed to START the 2nd and 3rd Preseason games. Thrust right into the fire. And he did not look great doing so, but also I think he handled himself well. We seriously are the worst fan base in sports. I don't know how any player succeeds with the constant negativity from fans.

    Plus a 1000

Not sure whether to laugh or cry

    This team needs some inspiration

How about Namath and Boozer hired as advisors????

For GM get someone with a lot of experience...get Ron W outa retirement/ or get Charlie Casserly for big money

Get a young offensive minded Coach eager to make a name ..copy Giants and Phila

Not "taking up" for Hackenberg. He was terrible for most of the game, although he was good in the final minutes. I'll stand by what I said before. If you're an NFL receiver, you have to hold on to the ball regardless. If I have to worry about a guy's ability to hold on to the ball after a hit, I wouldn't want him on the team.

Let me ask you guys something,,,I was willing to give Mike Mac the benefit of the doubt , SAME with this clueless Head coach who lost me that first season with that last game against the Bills that is when I began to cut the cord on Bowels but I stray-----> I was willing to give Mac a chance but maybe as I get older I my patience is not what it once was ----> this said I am not saying that there was another qb in that draft he should have taken over Hack Im saying he saw something in this kid that the rest of the world did not and he took him much higher than most of the world would have, he tied himself to this pick and I think he whiffed in a huge way this kid looks lost and we could have drafted him in round 5 and got a legitimate talent with that pick------Mac is on borrowed time in my book I don't care what the plan is I would shitcan him and Bowels at seasons end this is going to be bad and I can not trust this guy to build our team, hell he can't even build an offensive line or a solid group of linebackers ! In keeping with the thread,,,,some game huh ? SIGH

Well Hackenberg was the the number1 pick overall a few years back, or at least that's what this fan base believes of a 2nd draft pick lol,

Make no mistake of it this is Hackenbergs rookie season, it's always a difficult game plan for defensive coordinators facing Rookie QBs, pressure pressure pressure, and watch them implode, but it's so easy to be a HOF QB when your sitting on a couch in front of your tv.

Hackbots are not human. They do not feel pain. Responses like this are why I am getting Genobots flashbacks. While he did not go against JPP, the Q3 defense that Petty shredded was not the same as the garbage time defense at the end of Q4.

    Hack fans...

I don't blame Hack. He is a project QB. Always was. They either work out or they don't. He didn't ask to be drafted in the 2nd round. He may come around, but the chance of that happening is lower than it was a few weeks ago.

I do blame the GM for not bringing in additional QB competition other than a broken down 38 year old QB.

I blame the HC for giving the project QB the majority of camp and game reps when anyone with eyes could see last week he wasn't ready and they had a QB who was better. And that better QB was given minimal reps until he showed the fan base that he was the better QB and forced Bowles hand.

To me, this solidifies the argument that even if the Jets are winless this season, Mac and Bowles shouldn't be trusted to draft or develop a FQB.

Sucks but it is what it is.

Pretending for a moment that Hack is the future and also that we do not have the OL or weapons to succeed, why not let Petty and McNown take the beatings this year until while Hack develops and waits until the cavalry arrives next year?

It's not laziness; ball skills has always been his weakness.

The WCO is a terrible offensive system for Hack.

Great point, the reason I would let him play, is so he can guide the cavalry next year when or if they do come in.

If he gets a year of experience under his belt, it only helps him as it helps any other young player.

I'm not attached emotionally to any jets player and I don't mind when players are cut, my only caveat is, lets base the cuts on what these players do because of their performance during the regular season and not during preseason.
