Anyone complaining about CK not being on an NFL roster should buy an NFL team and sign Kaepernick themselves...until then stfu

God, this issue is so fucking simple but people just don't like the truth....it's the most annoying thing in sports I've ever seen, this debate is a damn joke

Teams aren't racist and they don't even care about a national anthem or pig socks or a Castro shirt, they care about money and winning! If a certain player hurts their bottom line and can only marginally help them win, if at all, there is no point in employing him.

If Cam Newton knelt for the national anthem he would still be a starting QB because his talent >>> the headache and potential loss of cash flow

A marginal player can't get away with certain things star players can from assault all the way down to smoking a joint. You can replace player with worker in any industry across the country really and the same idea applies

So I guess there are no whites protesting with BLM? And no I don't think it is discrimination, it is teams thinking about the bottom line, if they were racists discriminating, the league would be very white.

Yes, he may be able to hold down a back up job but Sherman was acting as if he should be on the Jets starting. He is not a FQB and would do nothing to advance the rebuild on the Jets.

Sherman should be bitching about his own team. They are the ones who brought Kaep in for a visit and then pussed out

I read that article Sherman did name Fitz and Mallet but he finsihed by saying whoever the Jets have at QB.

Richard Sherman can't believe Colin Kaepernick is unsigned while ‘whoever is starting for the Jets is terrible’

Cherry picked a few stories? Yeah I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you just cherry picked your own post. Maybe you need to open your eyes or pay your cable bill. Or just youtube.com John Crawford, Tamir Rice Castille, Eric Garner, Walter Scott, Freddie Gray. Start there.

Well said. Contrast that with the Bundy Ranch who avoided paying taxes. They pointed guns at law enforcement and was hailed by Fox News and people flocked there to protest these criminals. Patty Hearst bank robber and SLA member. Everyone else was either killed or arrested. She went back to her rich family and life.

It is discrimination or let me use a technical term that baseball owners used in the 90 to keep free agency cost down.. collusion, The owners are blocking Kaep from the NFL. All the crappy QB's in this league and this guy can't find a job? A few years ago he was in the Super Bowl. Not his fault his team let Harbaugh go and a bunch of players in their prime retired.

Anybody that has ever sat through a Sexual Harassment class (most, but not all, workplaces require such things at least occasionally) knows that "Perception is Reality"--meaning that no matter what the offending party meant by their words actions, if the receiving party is offended by those words or actions, then the offense is real.

Somehow, this all goes out the window for Kap. The line of defense is that he didn't mean any slight to anybody, he was just trying to call attention to the injustices that exist in the way the Justice system deals with minority individuals, and black men in particular.

Personally, I think that's a legitimate cause, and I would commend him for championing it, had he done so in some other fashion. However, he chose a way that I, and a whole hell of a lot of other folks, found to be extremely offensive. Our being offended doesn't take a damn thing away from somebody being wrongly killed by a cop--those aren't the only two positions available here, but it strangely has become the dichotomy portrayed by many Kap supporters. It is possible to be offended by his actions without being offended by his intent.

Kaepernick on the Left, Tebow on the Right. Too much vocal support, too little football skill.

The guy's a moron...pig socks and Castro shirt says it all. You never hear that part of it from his defenders

As a marginal NFL player you need to help the team image, not hurt it...that's really the bottom line

Discrimination and collusion are completely different things so wrong once again. Crappy QBs that call negative attention to the team do not play for long and that is what is going on. If he was better he would be on a team.

    Exactly

I don't like the guy and don't agree with his methods of protest but if he was a difference maker I would want the Jets to sign him tomorrow

As it stands now I'll be pissed if we sign him

All because of talent and worthiness...nothing else

You talking about Cliven Bundy who is currently Federally incarcerated, Patty Hearst who was kidnapped and did 22 months in prison?

LOL Hearst didn't look kidnapped when she robbed that bank. Bundy has been evading taxes since 1993 and just now incarcerated. I'll see if I can get away with that.

I would take him on the Jets. We have 3 real certified crappy QB's and he's more talented than everyone of them. He has had more success than any QB we have had since Sanchez.

I think Kaeperdick is a stupid dick head. I can't agree with you completely though because he's not that crappy at football and there are a lot of stupid dick heads in the NFL. He would be better than any QB on our roster. Owners are freezing him out lets not sugar coat it.

You obviously don't know the whole Hearst story or are intentionally avoiding looking at the parts that don't fit your narrative, ever heard of the Stockholm Syndrome, a teenager would be very easily effected by it.

Besides that, your claim was she went back to her family when she in fact went to jail. Likewise Bundy is incarcerated but I guess that doesn't count somehow?

How much better is this current team's offense than the one Kaep was on last year? If it is similar in talent level than the team Kaep led to a 1-10 record as a starter I don't see how he would be a better choice. He might be a very slight upgrade over McCown but he is not a QB you are going to build a team around and when you factor in the negative attention he would bring to the locker room it would be a net loss.

I have said a few times that it is about sponsors and money so yes he may be getting shut out because of that but the discrimination claims are a big stretch

I tend to think each individual owner that would actually be in the market for someone like Kaep has decided that the juice ain't worth the squeeze rather than him intentionally being blackballed

But even if that were the case, that is their right as owners. I wouldn't blame them for all of the negative attention he caused last season and ultimately hurting the bottom line of the league with lower ratings etc

If I was an owner I'd bring him in. For all the negative attention there are also a great deal of people/fans who support Kaepernick, including lots of better NFL players who will one day be free agents and might respect your organization more....

but we have Woody here and he's Trump's ball licker and Trump doesn't like Kaeperdick.

I'll still boo him though, especially if Miami picks him up

Found 3 separate polls judging support for Kaep. A Denver Post poll where 72.17% do not support Kaep, in a Reuters poll "72 percent of Americans said that they thought Kaepernick's behavior was unpatriotic. Another 61 percent said that they do not "support the stance Colin Kaepernick is taking and his decision not to stand during the national anthem."

A JD Powers poll found that of 9,200 people who attended a football, basketball or hockey game, the top reason they gave for viewing less NFL games was Kaepernick's protests. When you effect the bottom line you will have repercussions.
