The '17 Jet squad is going to be the best team we've had around here in a long, long time. Maybe even going back to Parcelles. A very young, very hungry and talented team. Look out. I can not wait for the season to start!!!!!

Yeah because those 2009 and 2010 teams were a bunch of schmucks. I really liked our draft this year, but we still have a long way to go to build a great team.
I love the optimism but this team is too young and inexperienced to be the best in a long time. I'm just hoping for a competitive showing with growth from the youngins to set a solid base for next year.
I applaud your enthusiasm. I look at 2017 as the year of discovery, hope and excitement.. I would say that this team has the nucleus and the potential to eventually become the best team. Not this year, but hopefully in years to come. This year we need to discover who is who in this young and aggressive zoo. 1- We need to discover if we have a FQB in the making 2- We need to discover if we have 3 potential pro-bowlers in Williams, Lee and Adams. 3- We need to discover how much better we are in the secondary with Claiborne anchoring it versus an immobile and expended Revis. 4- We need to discover how much better our entire Defense is this year versus last 5- We need to discover how full of shit is the media that label this the worst roster in the NFL, the same pathetic media that pick the Jets to be a strong playoff contender in 2016 6- We need to discover how our OL will hold up 7- We need to discover if we really do have a number one WR anywhere in this team 8- We need to discover that ridding ourselves of Fitz, Marshall, Decker and even Harris and Mangold was a smart and necessary move 9- We need to discover how good is our coaching staff 10- And finally, for once we need to discover the fun and pain of doing what should have been done a long time ago. Build a team through the draft with youth and speed. Stop band aiding it with over paid, over the hill talent lead by a perennial back up QB. Best team in a long while, surely not.....at least not yet. Most fun and exciting team in a long while, fielded with youth, speed, hope, desire,raw talent and un encumbered by the weight of overpaid vets with no future in sigh. Well, not just yes but FUCK yes. And the beauty of it is that a 0-3 or 3-0 start has fuck all nothing to do with the discovery phase and the moves than so desperately needed to be made. And has everything to do about building a dynasty right....from the ground up.
. '09 and '10 were also good teams...a good blend of vets and youth (Sanchez). Most of our vets are now gone, and the team is nothing but youth (except Forte). IF (and a very big 'IF') Hackenberg is more like a young Tom Brady than like a young bust, then this team could go a long, long way for years to come. We are down to one ? on this entire team. I'm leaning towards "Hack Attack!!!!"
Nice write up, and I agree.....lots of small ?'s. There really only one big ?, and that's Hack. IF he's good, our team will be good for years to come.
