Richie Kotite was a better evaluator of talent than Idzik/Bradway. They are easily the worst in team history & that is really saying something. What the hell were Woody & Korny farrell thinking when they hired this clown?? I always liked Demario Davis. Good locker room guy...not a dominant player by any means..but you know what you're getting w. him. He's a decent tackler, can navigate through traffic & has good speed. He either competes or pairs w. Bruce Carter as the primary back-up(s)at LB. Should he have a poor TC/preseason we release him w. cap savings to boot. This will never be a home run type of trade. There's no way to view it other than cutting our losses.I do think Davis upgrades the depth quite a bit if he sticks around. What a deplorable pick Calvin Pryor turned out to be.Reading the names we passed on to take him makes it all the more painful. Still am convinced Bradway was afraid of drafting skill players early for whatever reason. This is the most prime example of ignoring the offense to overkill the defense via the draft in recent memory.
I mean Davis had 99 tackles last year in 15 starts. I don't think he's a stud, but 99 tackles is worthy of a roster space.
I wanted Clinton-Dix. Thought we were insane to pass him up. He's a beast. Cooks would have been nice too but oh well. What's even worse? We took Amaro in the second when we could have had Allen Robinson!
MO ,,,,I remember when he was drafted and all the hype they put on this guy,to me he is an average player at best, I will give you he is better/ MUCH better than Pryor in every sense , his attitude alone makes him light years better than Pryor. Its just he's an average player to me and kinda smallish ,,,,I mean Im still trying to get sold on Lee . Our Linebackers are not very good, Harris is a tackling machine but all of them are liabilities in coverage ,,,rant over
Like it or not, Davis is far more valuable to the Jets than Pryor. Pryor is yet another indictment of piss poor, worst, horrendous draft picks of the prior regimes.
I thought Clinton Dix was better suited for a cover 2/3 type of role which we werent playing at that time. Much better off the ball & lacked alittle burst over the top. What we found out is that he has much better range than he showed at Bama & knows how to use his size exceptionally well. Pryor was slightly more fluid than Dix & much more aggressive. Seemed like a better fit for Rex's scheme in a box/single high/multiple type of deal. What we found out is he was nowhere near as fluid as he was at Louisville or showed at the combine, lacks discipline in his drops, doesn't form tackle & takes some of the worst angles you can possibly see a safety take.He didn't display any of that in college..at least on the surface. He clearly lacks composure, discipline & doesn't take fundamentals seriously. All things Dix does well.
^ fixed : ) Demario Davis. . Here's the guy Rex Ryan once touted as having Ray Lewis-like 'leadership' skills. @westiedog1 - yes it was Davis who ran down Vincent Jackson. That was the season opener when TB handed the Jets a win by hitting Geno out of bounds on a last-minute scramble and drawing a 15-yard PF penalty which Folk used to hit a 47-yarder at the buzzer.
Doubt it. Very little instinct for the game. Being a field general is not likely either. He needs to keep his leadership preaching limited to the rivival church meetings. Stanford is better than him.
When I think of Demario Davis I still think back to how vaginal he and Cromartie was vs the raiders in 2015. Didn't he miss like half of our 20 missed tackles on his OWN!? My god it was awful.. And from that game nothing stands out more than when BOTH of these idiots got RAN. OVER. BY. CRABTREE!!! TOGETHER!!!
Lol we traded our bust 1st round pick for our former bust 3rd round pick.Yep nothing to hate about it.Worst trade in the history of the franchise
Oh My Fucking God There is no way this can't turn.... know what, never mind. I just don't understand this franchise. Namath made a Faustian bargain, I'm sure of it now. The Jets are probably going to be like the Cubs and we'll win one in 2075 or something.
What I didn't know was that Rex benched him because he was late for meetings. As others have stated this was a good trade...we get rid of a cancer and get a serviceable LB who if we cut doesn't affect our cap numbers.
