We won't rebuild properly if we go 7-9 through to 10-6, eyes will be taken off the ball, Woody erm I mean his brother who is owner now , will forget about the long term and insist that we supplement these lovely fresh talents with more oldies in the Marshall/Decker mode, you know just to see us over the edge and into the play off's.

2-14, 1-15 please and let's do this rebuild properly, I know it won't happen like that as the amount of Jets fans on this board alone who are ready to throw the rattle out of the pram at the first sign of a long hard season, they will be there with the sack "toilet" comments, "Mac must go" etc etc etc

Patience is required to get this job done and get us on the right path to long term sustainable success, I would love to add "again" but that would be dreaming

  2. I don't think a good young defense is gonna hold this team back from losing games. It's a scoring league to the highest degree. Way too many fans..not just Jet fans are overestimating defense. Maybe the tide changes w. defensive minds evolving or the number of talented defenders who have sprouted up over the last 3 drafts or so..but even if the defense is world's better than what it was last year...perhaps it prevents us from losing..but certainly doesn't us lead us to winning.

What would worry me is the offense being better than we think. Right now there is little to no name recognition & not alot to go on from this unit. But there are a decent number of promising young talent within the ranks especially at WR. Anderson/Enunwa/Peake/Stewart/Hanson everyone of these guys has a high ceiling & big play potential. Who's gonna be throwing them the ball? Likely Mccown...but if Hack were to win the job & you combine that energy w. the aforementioned skill talent & the breath of fresh air at OC...yes..we could finish alot better than anticipated.. 6-10/7-9

The only way I can accept 6-7 wins from this roster, as it's currently configured, is if after McCown shits the bed, or gets blasted into whatever 'protocol' is appropriate, that Hack/Petty take over the reigns of the team and leads them to those victories...

As long as we have Toilet Bowles at HC we'll be 3-13 at best. worst clock manager I've ever seen in my life. Not to mention he might try Sheldon out as our dime corner back..

Is he really worse than Rex was? To be honest, I can't remember the last Jets coach that knew how to handle timeouts. Herm wasn't great either. Maybe Mangini was better?

With the dire win predictions, another question that needs to be asked here is: what are your plans to watch this coming season if those predictions are accurate? Mike Francesa said a few weeks ago in discussing personnel moves that the Jets have to give the fans a reason to come to the stadium. Do they? I know a lot of you have season's tickets and will attend games no matter what, and that's to be commended, however, I wouldn't blame any fan for not wanting to go through the trouble of traveling to the games and sitting through the bad weather to watch this team as presently constituted. As for me, I don't think I'll be blocking the time on my schedule to watch. If there's a conflict, I'll record the game and watch later. I did that to some extent last season because some of the games were just too painful to watch.

Both the Bills and Fins do have more talent than the Jets. While their talent is not Superbowl-bound talent, it still trumps what we have.

I think some people are letting fandom get in the way of what we actually were last year. Sure we had SOME young guys show promise, but now with Decker as the #1 (if we don't get rid of him) do you explect Anderson, Jalen Marshall, and Peake to produce #2 WR numbers? That's a stretch?

ASJ or Leggett to be a legit receiving threat?

ASJ hasnt done much with his career so far, and Leggett was a 6th rounder for a reason.

The defense to suddenly turn it around with all these young guys and be a top-5 in a single off season?
5th worst in points allowed last year and points per game. other stats were middle of the road but points are the biggie. and i realize some of those are due to pick-6es and ST TDs but you cant have a OK defense paired with a horrid offense

How is that being a fan ?

As for fans that want to continue to watch, they will be watching to see the developing talents blend into an unstoppable unit of the future, I guess that is what being a fan is really, a person that only turns up to watch a team that is winning everything is a glory hunting c*nt, real fans are there through thin and thinner and hopefully some success somewhere along the line.

what did the bills have at WR? a gimpy watkins and a bunch of nothing. the fins same thing landry is a beast and better then anyone we have but after him not much at all.

realistically we didn't have decker last year and marshall was gimpy and ineffective. if you look at what anderson did as a starter (minus the terrible NE game) in 4 games he ppsted what would amount to a 1132 yard season with 72 catches and 8 TDs. now do i think he can do that? probably not but i can see 800 yards and 60 catches and a few TDs (maybe like 6) enunwa had 867 yards as a WR3/WR2/WR1 cause injuries. decker is pretty much guaranteed 800 yards minimum. so i think we do have 3 800 yard WRs which isn't bad at all. I think we'll see a lot of anderson and enunwa outside and decker in the slot. our main issue last year was o-line and QB. sadly i don't see much of an improvement coming in either area. But i do like our WR group for sure. our run game should be ok with powell and forte splitting the duties. powell was a beast those last 4 games when forte got hurt. ASJ has talent i could see him in the 600-700 yard range. i don't expect anything from legget. ASJ issue is health when he's on the field he produces.

You're right, but I think there's 3 or 4 guys coming out next year that'll be legitimately worth taking in the top ten. Plus there's always one or two that come out of nowhere even if other guys fall off ala Wentz, Trubisky, and Mahomes.

The CS is not the same so your opening statement is incorrect.

Did you only turn up to watch a winning Jets outfit ?

Oh no, you already said thin and thinner, so by definition of what I posted how would that make you a C*nt fan, but hey if you want to take offence at something not directed at you, then be my guest.

No but you're taking a "holier than thou" attitude with other Jets fans and quite frankly that annoys the fuck out of me.

The Jets are lucky they have the fan base that they do, regardless of whether or not some of them tune in during the "good" times.

The only thing wrong with this reasoning is the 2 seasons he has been headcoach he was better than 3-13.

I'm hoping we get a good one in 2018 or hack has a great season. I think bowles would be dumb to not start hack. we already know pettys ceiling and it's not our future, we already know josh is a 1 year rental and not a very good one. we already know woody is ok with this season being bad and is more about developing young players (that's what he said exactly don't jude us on wins and losses judge us on the progression of our young talent) If hack progresses that would be great, if not we need to land a top QB by any means necessary

Huh? Defense is just as bad if not worst as the offense. They didn't stop anyone last year. Expecting some fresh face kids to be game changers is alot ot ask. Plus Bowles and Rodgers are still here and they can't adjust in game to save their lives.
