- Yanks win 3-2 and complete sweep of the Rays. - Severino with 11 strikeouts in 7 innings (Yankee pitching with 15 total strikeouts). - Aaron Hicks with 2 HRs and all 3 RBIs. - Greg Bird still floundering. - Chase Headley's 'hot streak' to begin the season has passed and he appears headed back to being Chase Headley.
Sanchez out for four weeks with that biceps strain? That sucks. Was going to take the kids to Sanchez Bobblehead Day on 4/30, but he won't be playing... and they want to see him play. Nice win streak, though. This is the first year in probably... I don't know... 5-6 years that I've been able to actually catch a few games. Life is finally settling down enough to do that. And by that I mean I've been ignoring the wife/kids to do things like watch baseball games. Alas.
Chase Headley continuing to defy gravity installed in the #2 spot. Gardner leads off tonight's game with a double (an "E-8" allows him to take 3rd) bringing up Headley. Headley promptly homers. 2-0 Yankees. I don't get it. .
Severino flat-out dominant. Betances rock solid slider (what a nasty out pitch). Chapman: just one of those nights (Rutledge's loud foul was scary). Fortunately Chap saved his best fastball for the last pitch of the game.
Judge and Severino owned yesterday. Yanks are doing well even without Sanchez and Didi. Fcking Chapman tho, that was a close one.
"Cubs lose!....Cubs lose!!" Aaron Judge hit a screaming line drive that split the outfielders and rolled to the wall, a shot measured at 116 mph leaving his bat. Thus far, Aaron Judge has 9 hits that have been measured leaving his bat at over 115 mph. The next guy in MLB has 2: http://www.baseballisfun.com/2017/0...15-mph-no-other-mlb-hitter-has-more-than-two/
Wish Betances could be the permanent closer and Chapman the set up guy. Dude blew a three run lead in the ninth tonight.
Tonights game is basically house money for the Yanks after already winning the series. Entertaining game but the ESPN broadcast is dreadful.
It's awesome how Didi comes back from injury and immediately starts hitting. The lineup is really clicking right now. So awesome how they come off that 18 inning game and put up a 10 spot on limited sleep after flying in and arriving at 6AM. I just hope they don't collectively all stop hitting at the same time.
