I just don't get how u don't take a qb at some point There all in on hack? Nigga couldn't get on the field once last year even as the number 2 and now he is god? Fire everyone
Macc has drafted 2 OL in 3 years. Harrison was cut almost immediately. Shell is all Macc has to show for. The Jets have only selected two OL before day 3 in 11 years..
Jesus Christ this board. I swear the team could have a 1st round pick at every position, and a third of the people would complain about certain positions being drafted after others. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
Shell looks promising, the team signed a starting ol this offseason, and there's still guys like Dozier, and Ijalana for depth. Would it have been nice to get a 3rd round guard? Of course, but you can't draft every position. None of the guys in the mid to late rounds would have challenged for a starting spot anyway, so I think it can wait until next year.
Eventually they will realize that 4 thru 7 is a crapshoot. And the more darts you got to shoot, the better your chances some will hit the mark. But for now let the chorus of "bad trade, stupid Mac" continue.
This was a deep draft .. the last corners we selected were ranked 29th and 36th overall in the draft by scout.com .. TE Leggett will provide some plays in the West Coast Offense. The WR's selected are very very solid. If Donahue and McGuire contribute even on Special Teams cause yes Special Teams does matter .. it's a very solid Draft.
I'm expecting the secondary to be dramatically improved this season. Good job overhauling it. By locking down the safety position, it is more likely our inferior CBs will have a more meaningful competition this preseason and allow the cream to rise. The later rounds of the drafts include several players with one or two elite attributes that paired with overachieving play could work out nicely. Special teams should improve as well. And hooray we finally have a competent TE. Acknowledging that this will be a down year, I'm looking forward to seeing questions answered and progression from youth on the team.
holy shit is that true?? its even worse than i thought. 11 years. thats not the way to run a team - granted we have had 3 gm's in that time period but that is just crazy. the problem is that the jets need to already preserve the 2018 draft for the QB. that is the most important pick next year. if they don't get any other starter it doesn't matter - as long as they pick the right guy. hey they may have to move up next year so they may end up having only 4 picks anyway. now the jets should be thinking that way already which would have made the current draft that much more important to spread the wealth and focus your picks on as many positions as possible. not 2 safeties and 2 WR with your 1st four picks.
Brian Winters was round 3 and Duccasse was round 2. Those are the only early OL since 06 with Brick and Mangold.
Not getting a OL is disappointing but the value there is next year like the QB Mac did some trade downs for some quality players (I think) Adequate job imo
