It's not dumb at all. Just because your not used to our team doing it, doesn't make it dumb. Go look at what the successful drafting teams do, they do shit like this every year. Especially late in the draft. It's refreshing to me. I'm all smiles.
All I can reasonably think, is Mac values the players in rounds 5, and 6 about 95% equal to each other with no drop off, so he might as well get more bullets to try getting a hit on late round picks.
I just saw that Brian Hill is gone as well. I guess we aren't taking a RB. NFL.com still doesn't have a 5th round pick up for the Jets.
You're all smiles because well get seven guys who won't make the team instead of 3? Is this your first year watching football or what
My post was in response to the poster who said that we got a 5th next year. Try to keep up and quit being such a homer.
Such an exciting team with Gary Sanchez not even playing right now.....pitching looks great too OK back to bitching about trade downs...
I think the Eagles are looking to pick this guy up as FA ,, I would like to see us pick him up with a sixth or seventh round pick.. great special teams, FB, LB, TE. Athlete,,, known as Tarzan, lol. Had a great pro day. http://phillysportsnetwork.com/2017/03/20/scalzi/
You know if you look at what we got out of the end of the draft/UDFA last season. Mac having all of these picks late may not be a bad thing. Hopefully this year he's got his shit together 2/3/4 because those rounds have really been meh for him. 5th Shell- played really solid coming down the stretch 6th No pick 7th Peak 19-186 Edwards- could have been better and not captain shankopotamous UDFA Robbie 42-587 2 TD J Marshall 14-162 2 TD
I think I've figured out why Mac is accumulating all the 6th round picks...he has a bet with another AFC East GM that he can accumulate at least four 6th-round picks.
Wednesday: we need picks, lots of picks. Trade down for more picks Saturday: why is he trading down for all these picks? I love this board
Nobody was wanting to trade down on the third day of the draft for extra 6th/7th rounders or third day selections in future years
There's a SLIGHT difference between wanting to trade down from 6 and getting high picks and trading down 20 spots to get 6th rounders.
