Thank you. It's been given plenty and some people still ignore it, but perspective is always appreciated.
Would much prefer to trade Pryor today. Another horrible draft pick. HaHa Clinton-Nix was still on the board back in 2014. Terrible angles, constantly out of place in coverage & then typically engages in nonsense celebration after tackles. Have heard not so great things about him in the locker-room. PFF's No. 87 safety out of 91 qualifiers in 2016 ===== his 3rd year when he should be learning the system better & experience to avoid the same mistakes. I would rather see Antonio Allen out there. Time to move on. The sooner the better. We're on a 2-3 year strict rebuilding plan.
as opposed to it's a gimmicky spread system / exclusively from the shotgun quarterback league? .....keeping it in perspective. Who doesn't want a QB? You give me next year's draft rights to Sam Darnold (assuming he's coming out) and I'll give you back-to-back #1 picks. I'm talking about the right qb.
Great post Joe. maybe Adams can tell Pryor to stop fucking biting on the dummy crossing routes over the middle while they run receivers right by him. If the coaches can't hammer it into him maybe a smart, vocal teammate like Adams can. If not? send Pryor on his way..
I totally disagree. For one thing, Bowles uses his safeties in a combination manner where they will play either/both positions. More importantly, Pryor has zero ability at FS. He can't cover, he takes horrible angles, and is not a reliable tackler. He would be an unmitigated disaster as the full time FS. That has already clearly been demonstrated. Did you see the snap chart that someone posted? Adams took more snaps at FS than at SS. Unless Pryor is traded and the Jets take a more traditional FS, I expect that Adams will play FS most of the time this season and Pryor will play SS. I think Pryor will be given the opportunity to return to his 2015 form. If he does, he will remain a Jet and Adams will stay at FS. If not, Pryor will be traded, released, allowed to walk (if they don't activated the 5th year option), Adams will be moved back to SS, and a FS will be drafted in 2018.
Todd Bowles: "Our safeties are not listed as SS and FS. They are interchangeable, they are both up in the box and they are asked to do a variety of things. We don't have the stereotypical SS sand FS roles."
Well, Pryor was picked by a previous regime, so he really doesn't count. He sucks at coverage, so won't be used often in the same manner as Adams or even Lee. Between Adams and Lee, hopefully the days of TEs and RBs killing us over the middle are over.
I don't think those guys are better. I think Jackson is getting ignored because of injuries. Jmo Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
There's hope at least for Lee, but none for Pryor in coverage unless Adams can do what the Jets' CS failed to do.
Bowles' system doesn't really have designated "FS or SS"........ They will both be playing in the box as well as back in coverage.
3 guys who could be in the base defense who can cover a Tight End. Hopefully our weak spot in the middle of the field is finally sealed.
