The worst thing the Jets can do here is play Adams at free safety. This kid is supposed to be an all word strong safety so let him play there.

My guess is that the Jets keep Pryor and try to fit a square peg in a round hole with Adams at free safety.

Pryor will move to free safety. Adams is drafted to play strong and will play there. He's the future of the position. I read that Bowles likes using three safeties so Adams, Pryor and Miles will be those three I assume. Love the pick. Good building block. Excited to see who else we add.

The only thing Pryor is worse at than playing strong safety is playing free safety.

I agree he would be awful at free safety but if he is here he'll have to play somewhere.

I'd love to trade him over the next few days but think he'll be here. If he's here he'll probablt play. The Jets don't have anyone else.

I think the Jets won't be using these two in the traditional FS / SS configuration, but more hybrid coverages.

Also I still think the Jets could still draft another safety with closer to FS skills, like Eddie Jackson from Alabama.

Nickel LB if all else fails...I'm not convinced they can't play together but who knows

    Maybe traded today?

You would like to think that at 6 overall Adams could play free safety. Otherwise he's just an undersized in the box guy like Pryor.

None of these guys score any points for us ...just 2 more clowns added to the Bowles circus

Along with our other Bozo pick Lee

Watch how Bowles uses them ...lol

Again it cracks me up when people whose job it is to analyze these kinds of things called is a homerun but a few armchair GMs on the Internet are out here running their mouth. I love it.

Either way, back to relevant people… I think it's pretty clear every time you hear Bowles talk about how safeties are used in his system that he's going to be used as a hybrid safety and it's also pretty clear that his skill set will allow him to.

At their best, Pryor, Lee, a former safety himself, and Adams should serve very similar roles in a Todd Bowles defense as in the box SS/LB that can cover. That would mean in a way we picked the same type of player 3 out of the last 4 drafts with various degrees talent.

Kinda reminds you of Arizona, no? And that defense did pretty ok under Bowles.

Adams: the complete package. A true all-purpose safety and not just a box safety. The guy's on a lot of tackles because of his ability reading plays from the next level (i.e. he closes like nobody's business) and flies all over the field in coverage as well so enough of this one-dimensional Calvin Pryor 2.0 garbage already.

Calvin Pryor: IF Pryor stays on the team, Adams can only help him settle into his true SS position and clean up his mental miscues.

"Bwwaaa....I wanted another QB": the Jets just stepped in shit and grabbed a top-3 player at #6 who is a true leader/culture changer and defensive QB....I'm sure as hell glad we didn't draft another spread system qb.
