Even if we had to overpay him to come here it would not come anywhere close to what it would for HT. HT is talented but 12 mill is risky especially since he's coming from the pats...sooo many players not just QB's leave the pats and end up being very average or worse.
Yep, Jason Cole is reporting completely opposite of Silver. Schefter said that even when he left the Steelers visit, Hightower was still mulling over the offer from Jets, Pats and Steelers. I think there is a lot of posturing and smoke screens out there in order to pump the market up.
Well it's the offseason and FA time and HT is the biggest news there is. Media is going to report and try to get a story going no matter what the real deal is.
Lotta obscure wannabe Twatters, and third rate writers, trying to be funny too..... looking for attention.
He is definitely going to. This team is dumb. Not a single CB visit and the only LB visit is the highest paid ILB on the market.
Can't say I'm surprised. Even if Pats gave less money, which I'm sure they did, taxes are probably less in the New England area and why would he want to play for the Jets? Aside from money, things don't look that great for us
Won't be the only time the Jets lose to the Patriots in 2017. Terrible. This nightmare has to end eventually, right?
4 years 43.5mil, 19 Guaranteed. Pretty much 11 per year, more than I thought Pats would offer, bet we probably did have a 12mil offer on the table.
Good chunk of change to go back to the Champs. Even if the Jets were 5 years, $60 mil with $25 mil guaranteed still not enough to outweigh Pats.
4/$43.5/$19 gtd.... that's tremendous... now just figure out the Butler trade (which is all but happening) and what you want to do with Jimmy G. and it's on to pre-season.
the patriots not afraid to pay dudes this offseason thats for sure and brandin cooks contract comes up next year
