Brandon Marshall Released

VERY classy of Marshall. I like and respect him at times, but didn't like his dogging it at the end of last season, nor his too easy acceptance of the number of drops he has.

 

Good point, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to find a way to make his cap hit much lower as well via extension.

 

This is definitely the right move. Marshall's history shows that he does pretty well in his early years with teams, loves his QBs, etc but once things stop going well he becomes a distraction and lets his emotions get the best of him. This could save us a Santonio Holmes in 2011 type of meltdown. He's a great WR, and I'm sure he'll find a fit on a team with a good QB (look for him on the Patriots or Packers next year). He's just not an ideal piece on a rebuilding team, and this will allow more opportunities for Enunwa. I appreciate what Marshall did for the Jets in 2015, but it's time to move on. I have to admit, it's refreshing seeing the Jets doing a proper rebuild instead of blowing all their cap on over the hill stop gap vets.

 

Marshall was mostly classy and represented the Jets well during his time here.

 

I was Marshall's biggest fan as a Jet, but this move angers me. He talked so much about winning, about Fitz being good, about retiring a Jet, then everything falls apart last year and instead of trying to fix it: He Jumps ship. Definition of a loser. No wonder he has never been to the playoffs.

 

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out you loser...probably dropped the pink slip too...

He could still play but was playing with one foot in and one foot as a studio host. I bet the Giants take a bite.

Our Jets are going to be awful this season. Whoever plays behind center is going to get killed.

I don't mind his release at all, but that was a classy post, and I accept his apology

 

Time to let the young receivers a chance to step up and the Jets needed to save some money for free agents.

 

How is Decker injury prone? Before last season he missed a total of 4 games in his career and 2 were in his rookie year. I get that he got hurt last year and needed 2 surgeries but that doesn't mean he's going to get hurt again or is more likely to.

Anybody notice that Fitz wasn't on Marshall's list of people he thanked? Doesn't that seem odd?

Yes, I'd love to see it. Especially after Odell throws one of his sideline "look at me" temper tantrums.
Marshall will probably keep it classy, but I'd be curious to see his reaction.

Well, let me rephrase that: OBJ would actually hate Marshall more than Sheldon does, lol.
