I think I found a bright spot. Nobody has film on his schemes. Not even him. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
And seriously, if they can defend a pass, get some pressure and not have to play from behind, they might be able to run. Not entirely sold on Powell as an every down back, but the alternative is Morton getting his qb protection or at least them not holding it for too long. They'll end up stacking the box so ultimately it's pointless but I'm not feeling great about the passing game. Fixing coverage is imperative. That lies firmly on Bowles. Made, I think a good first step, as far as motivation prospect but still have some old dudes on the field, including Harris...as much as that sucks. Revis, will he even survive as a safety? Who knows. But, I would look for the d to save the day because offensive prospects are pretty limited. Shit year coming. I can feel it Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I'm partial to coordinators and HCs who adapt their systems to the talent on hand, rather than insisting on running "their" system. So if he is a WCO system coach and isn't going to adapt to the QBs on our roster, then fuck him. I hope he fails miserably, the Jets go 0-16, and he is fired along with Bowles at the end of the season.
I agree, great coaches mold the system to fit the talent in any sport. Some systems fit different talent types better than others. Example: Bill Walsh's original WCO was built around an offense with average talent and very little star power. When Walsh had star power surrounding his original players running the system, they became a dynasty. Montana became a HOF QB due to Walsh. But I can't take anything away from Joe Cool, he was the one who was on the field making the plays, not Walsh. It's funny how it takes both, the perfect combination. Maybe one of these seasons, our team will get it right on both sides of the ball and along the sideline.
OMG Alabama and Michigan have a better CS ....SMH This is Bottom of the Barrel boys and girls,, Thanks Woody you Woodpecker Gut says that when the smoke clears from 3-13 Morton at least helps get us Darnold in 2018 Hmm...had a cousin first name Morton maybe that's lucky
Oh fuck no... "Morton twice worked under Jim Harbaugh, first as his passing game/wide receivers coach at the University of San Diego in 2005 and as the 49ers’ wide receivers coach from 2011-14. During that time, Colin Kaepernick, a potential option for the Jets this offseason, was the 49ers’ quarterback." Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Not a bad idea. I'm totally not sold on Powell as a featured back, yet. He had some moments but he's been on the team how many years now? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Powell has never been used correctly by this team , the guy is a playmaker . That being said , Forte isn't getting any younger and we could use a speedy back to compliment Powell going forward . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I find his lack of play calling experience somewhat of a concern, personally. And that's just a general concern. They still need to address the qb situation, and if that snippet holds any clues, we're in for a world of hurt. Fix the D immediately. They're gonna need it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I never said he was going to coach them individually. He will have time to pass off knowledge to the coaches and players.
Will they have a press conference over his hiring or is OC not important enough? I only ask because since he's a no-namer it would be nice to hear a little about his philosophies and what he thinks about the players currently on the roster
nah, no one cares about Krapperdick. Tebow had a cult following. If anything Krapperdick is universally hated. I don't think they will bring him in because Woody Johnson isn't going to like that and I'm not really saying they should, I'm just saying he is better than any QB we presently have. You couldn't say that about Teblow either
Pass on Kaepernick. After being with the Saints, I would be shocked if this coach still wanted a QB that only goes through 1 read. Kaerpernick severely limits the passing game. Also, he is a distraction.
We could bring in backups from half the teams in the league and say the same thing. Doesn't mean they'd be a good option. And Kaep would be a monumental PR disaster for the Jets, Tebow's cult following was tempered by the fact that he basically said all the right things even when the media couldn't stop talking about him. Kaep goes out of his way to say all the wrong things. Fucking dude was championing Fidel Castro in Miami, ffs.
