I'm not sure the days of grinding it out are feasible anymore.Maybe w. a great offense & timely defense..but not the other way around. Dominating defense is a thing of the past. If your gonna play that style you better minimize mistakes(something the Jets are easily the worst at) & be very good situationally...another Jet shortcoming. Also...they play this grind it out style...then the late 4th qtr/OT come around in these stalemates..and the team has no one who can make a guy miss,slip past coverage or make the "gotta have" big play. You gotta have those 1-2 guys on O who give you that chance..who can actually bring home the win. The jets never have that..they're forced to keep expecting perfection from their D, playing field position & hoping for a lucky bounce. After 3 decades of being a fan of this junk...it's pretty well certain the "Lucky bounce" never comes.
Yes and it will be some type of miracle from Heaven before anyone gets a clue Mac has been pussy whipped by Bowles into buying him a Rolls Royce Defense and Old Master Chan was given sloppy seconds to come some offensive plays Bowles think his D has to make it so when he's demoted to a DC someplace he comes out smelling like a rose But this year his quack plan exploded The sooner Mac explains the truth to the Johnsons the better or else he's cooked
Woody knows absolutely nothing about football. He's willing to open the checkbook..and he's willing to empower "football people". But specifically in the culture/infrastructure department...he is completely noncommital & clueless. When you ail like the Jets do...sooner or later you need to make a power move. While Woody sparingly makes them..they are always for the wrong reasons. Be it saving face by re-signing Revis or pushing for the backpages.. We've had no identity as a football team for far too long..no one ever appears willing to stand up & decide what the Jets are gonna be. You can bet the Mara's would decide what type of Defense the Giants were gonna build & run if things got murky. This disaster will not get better until a leader w. a clear vision & the power/fortitude to execute it emerges.

Seems like a dream long ago For 2 years now I have been advocating to drop everything on some Offense...now there are rumblings we may actually look for some OL and a TE in the draft Br4d, we have to join the rest of todays reality that its a passing league and with no legit QB you r screwed
