http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-treatment-facility-facing-longer-suspension/ If he can keep his nose clean, the Cowboys will look like geniuses!
was a big fan of him in college and initially wanted the Jets to grab him. Holy fuck I am so glad we didn't draft him now.
Apparently the NFL is going to fine the Cowboys for having too many players suspended to start the season. I didn't know that was a thing.........
yeah me either I learned this today. If you have three guys suspended on your team you have to cough up a fine based on a percentage of their salary
The dude's not well and it was obvious before the draft. If he turns it around it will be in spite of Jerry. Fuck Jerry
I thought some of the posts, from right after the news came out at draft time, were pretty funny in retrospect. -Gregory is worthy of being a top 10 pick in this draft, he fits a huge need for our defense, I would absolutely take the chance on him if the scenario is right. -No way he slips to round 2 -Gregory has issues obviously, but he has unlimited potential, and if he falls to round two I don't see how the Jets could pass on him. I'd be all over Gregory, if he some how slips to round Two. -Didn't Warren Sapp drop because of weed? Who knows, but some team picking in the 15-32 range could be getting a steal now. -he's outside of the top 10 now but he doesn't get past the teens -On the other side of things, those acting like this kid isn't worth being drafted is hilarious, he will be a stud. He is just young and dumb, these things tend to make you a better person in the end. Its not a big deal. If they draft him in the second, its a major steal, even with all this extra stuff with him. -I don't think he drops out of round one but anyone who passes on him in round two will probably regret it. -If anyone thinks Gregory is gonna fall to the 2nd round, let alone out of the top 15, you're crazy. . Because of some weed? -If he falls out of the 1st and he's there at 37.. That's the definition of a Christmas miracle for the Jets -Again, It's personal preference at that point. I do happen to think Gregory is hands down the best OLB prospect in this draft, without any doubt in my mind, I think he is. So yeah, I would take that risk, it is the third hardest position to find a good player at, so It is also worth it without a doubt at 6. IMO
I don't think he drops out of round one but anyone who passes on him in round two will probably regret it.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Randy Gregory suspended without pay for at least one year for violating NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
It's what he needs to get himself healthy, and maybe salvage his career. Dude could play, it's a shame. Fuck Jerreh tho
WTF? So, after already being suspended 4 games as a rookie, another 4 games this year, and having another TEN games tacked on, he went and (depending on the source) either failed another test, or missed a test because he knew he'd fail (which is dumb since the penalty is the same). I wonder when this latest violation happened; if it happened during the 14 game suspension, why even reinstate him (and have Dallas waive a player to fit him on the roster)?
It's bullshit. He missed the test because he was in rehab as part of his previous suspension. Goodell sat on this all fucking year and John Mara pushed him to hold the appeal right before the playoffs. I hope he goes the court route.
wow........too bad. one of only a few picks the cowboys haven't had go their way in the last few years.
