I get what your email saying, but regardless that doesn't changed the fact that he had a pretty good game despite that play whether it was a mental lapse or not. Either way, the offensive line will be a bigger mess without Mangold, with Winters coming back from an IR'd injury, Carpenter being an average blocker and no stability at the tackle positions.
Offensive lineman drafted after Hackenberg: 2nd round G Cody Whitehair - 14 games/13 starts 3rd round C Max Tuerk - 0 games T Shon Coleman - 5 games/0 starts G Joe Thuney - 14 games/13 starts C Isaac Seumalo - 7 games/3 starts OT Le'Raven Clark - 6 games/1 start C Graham Glasgow - 13 games/9 starts G Rees Odhiambo - 6 games/0 starts 4th round G Parker Ehinger - 5 games/4 starts G Willie Beavers - 2 games/0 starts T Jerald Hawkins - 0 games C Evan Boehm - 14 games/0 starts T Alex Lewis - 8 games/8 starts A lot of the starts were because of injury and the only one who is a part of a really good offensive line is Joe Thuney. Not sure where all these great offensive lineman are that you're speaking of. Talking out your ass as usual.
Hard to get lineman out there, and when you get them you have to find a way to retain them. This previous draft, I wish we had a shot at Jack Conklin, but TN took him and now they have one of the best tackle duos in the league in him and Lewan. What's funny is they were drafted in the first round. Mac's philosophy on trying to get lineman late could bite him in the ass, getting a RT is one thing, but a LT is much harder. Shell could work out, but 1 average lineman in a potential of 3 drafts is no good to me.
This may be the perfect year to trade down and spend the picks on the offensive line. Unless there is a game changer QB out there, the Jets might as well do that. There' s no point in developing a QB with a washed up oline and we definitely don't have enough picks to fill even half the holes on this team. Trade Sheldon plus the top 5 pick, for a boatload of 2nds and 3rds and a late first.
Take DeShaun Watson and stop fucking around with these mid round quarterbacks. All reports are that Hackenberg likely won't be ready and I doubt the franchise will be comfortable going into next season with Hack vs. Petty. I'd be comfortable with Watson coming into 2017 as the day one starter while Hackenberg gets a couple years to get his shit together. Could be an Aaron Rodgers situations where he sits for multiple years and figured it out later into his 20s.
Dumb shit. ANYTHING we added in the draft is better than what we have right now. ANYTHING. Drafting a developmental QB that does not help this team one iota in 2016, is the most insanely idiotic move you can make, but I'm sure you support it.
I didn't say whether I support it or am against it. I simply disproved your incorrect statement. 'Dumb shit.' Stop speaking out of your ass. Whether Hackenberg works out or not remains to be seen. But we didn't miss out on drafting Orlando Pace in the second or third round. They didn't draft Hackenberg to help them in 2016. The entire franchise was well aware he would not be a contributor this year. They drafted him to end our franchise quarterback drought within the next couple years. Whether that works out or not remains to be seen.
Part of the blame for the strip-sack is on Petty. He changed the formation by moving out a RB for blocking. Coupled with his slow reaction time, shift some of the blame off Shell. Hackenberg was drafted as a 2 year project,,foolish pick
As for the original topic. She'll on the right side seems like a good fit. Carpenter is here and if we can resign Winters. 3/5ths of the line is set. Center we need to address. Would love mangold back but at 33 and coming off injury they would need a better backup plan than Wesley Johnson. As for the left tackle I'd take the approach above. Trade back if what we want isn't there at 6 and get the best tackle available at the right spot. Use the picks to address the secondary the oline and pass rush and it'll be a good start to our rebuild Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cimini tweeted that he let up 0 pressures again. 82 snaps, 0 pressures in the last 2 games. Nice to see something positive
What fans have not taken into consideration with Shell having such a good game is that Gailey had the QB playing from under center for most of the game, the scheme makes a huge difference. The defense will always hesitate a bit with QB under center as they need to read their keys, that will allow for the offense to have the upper hand most of the time. If they had been in shotgun formation most of the game, I bet his performance would have suffered against the front 4 of the dolphins. I do hope he can continue to progress, I dthinh Breno is gone next year and someone needs to step up.
