http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...e-says-hes-been-playing-with-a-torn-meniscus/ Forte went for an MRI on the knee after the Jets returned to New Jersey and said Wednesday that the test showed he has a torn meniscus. Forte doesn’t think the injury, which he believes he’s had for some time, will force him to miss the final three games of the season. “At some point [I will need surgery], but I’ve been playing with it for a whole year and it hasn’t been bothering me,” Forte said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. __ For a whole year? I hope that is just speculation from Forte's part...But damn it just another reason to look at this season being doomed from the get-go.
Good time to take the rest of the year off and heal. No need to come back knowing this team is headed home on Jan 2nd.
I appreciate the toughness, but if the coaching staff knew this they should be ashamed of themselves for not splitting the carries with Powell at the very least. I thought he looked a lot slower than he did in Chicago and wasn't really effectively using jump cuts to find the correct hole. This must be why.
What we should do is shut him down and give Bilal more reps, so I fully expect Forte to get 30 touches on Saturday if he plays.
Todd Bowles tore his jaw and strained his vagina while practicing facial expressions in the team mirror ..Sources close to the situation said "Nothing to fear,Bowles is still an awful coach"
No reason for him to go back out there if he's been playing hurt. Th season is toast and Powell is more than capable. Besides, aren't we supposed to be tanking!
As someone who's unfortunately had to deal with these (both knees), I'll say there's ALOT of variables with it and how it affects you. Not as cut and dry as a torn ligament, but will catch up to you eventually.
We have another RB. Wilds, who got a pair of touches in the SF game. Bench Forte' for medical reasons and let him heal up. Play the rookie for a few more snaps so we (CS) can get a chance to judge him. May be a pleasant surprise.
Forte should be shut down for the rest of the season, so he can go ahead and get surgery. He might as well get healthy for next season since the team isn't playing for anything right now.
