1. Quincy Enunwa: He has had a break out season and could put the Jets in a tough spot with Brandon Marshall or Eric Decker for 2017. One of them could be expendable. Quincy has proven he is capable as a #2 WR at least this season. 2. Wesley Johnson We all love Nick Mangold, but I think Johnson has done a fantastic job of filling in the last 4 games. 3. Leonard Williams Many people thought he was the best player in the draft last year. This year he has proved he has potential to be a top defensive player in football. More importantly: he has shown he has heart. Unlike most of the Defense. 4. Darron Lee He is not quite there yet, but he has progressed nicely and looks to be a full time starter for many years to come. I think he will have a great 2nd season. Time will tell. 5. Matt Forte I have enjoyed having him in the back field this season. He must be FURIOUS how things have turned out this season though. He came to the Jets to make a playoff run, instead the team is pathetic. He has been a true pro about the whole season though. I think he has enough in the tank for a solid 2017. So anyone else impressing you on the team? The season has been terrible, but there are a few bright spots.
Our young receivers. Enuwa, Anderson, J. Marshall, Peake. It's exciting to have so many good young receivers. Wesley Johnson. Learned from the best, has looked great as a replacement.
The receivers, especially Enunwa. Just think how productive they'd be if they actually had a decent QB to throw them the ball.
Are we really that excited about Lee? Yeah he racks up tackles but he hasn't exactly had a big impact in the games he's played.
I agree, but I think he is starting to pick it up. We will see how he does the rest of the season and into 2017, but the potential is there.
The tackle position needs to be addressed, but the offensive line really hasn't been too bad. They've allowed the 8th (tied) least amount of sacks in the league. The defensive in the box is pretty set minus maybe another inside backer or an elite edge rusher. We could stand to stay with Mauldin/Jenkins for another year if Garrett doesn't fall to us. Another year for Lee & Leo should make them both near pro bowlers. The young receivers as mentioned. If Anderson/Peake/Marshall can hold it down as a collaboration of the #2 receivers, we keep Marshall and Enunwa and we have a good amount of targets.
I really like Enunwa and Robbie Anderson at WR. Also lee has had flashes. For some reason i still have hope for Pryor as well.
We are stacked at WR and DE. Csrpenter is a keeper on OL while Winters is showing improvement. Harris, Marshall, and Forte are capable veterans. Petty could be the second coming of Johnny Unitas but I guess we will never find out.
The best part about this season?? Word has it Woody just managed to house break Todd Bowles........He no longer shits on the floor............
Young receivers. Enunwa has been a solid presence even when the rest have struggled, and Anderson has provided some exciting plays. Im also routing for Bilal Powell. Not a game breaker on his own but with some O-line help he could be a nice piece in a tandem going forward if they were to split carries more than we have seen this season.
LG Carpenter, Bilal Powell, Tanner Purdum, and our trio of young WRs as definite likes. Winters and Ijalana have been pleasant surprises, although I don't think either is a quality starter. It's too early to tell now, but I think Petty, Jenkins, L. Edwards, D. Smith, Burris, Lawrence Thomas, and maybe even Hack could become likes.
Why would Forte come here rather than the Packers? They haven't panned out either, but I was shocked at that decision.
Were they an option? I did not know that. I just remember him instantly signing when Free Agency began. Still, the Jets were coming off a (10-6) season and looked pretty good. I get him choosing here.
