Jared Goff hardly covered himself in glory in this game - 4.3 yards per attempt, QB rating of 67.9. Miami has won 5 in a row, just like the Giants, and neither are actually any good. That's the NFL for you.
December is when things matter. Lets see if these teams hold up. Miami is a joke, Giants can stay relevant because their defense gets turnovers.
Carson Wentz did today too albeit down two scores. Completed a 5 yard out route to Zach Ertz to take a bunch of time off the clock. It's frustrating to watch as a fan of the game.
Fucking AJ Green probably done for the year with a torn hamstring. He was carrying my fantasy teams so I can see what caused it.
As the lifelong fan of a team that is rarely actually any good, let me just say I'd sign up for 5 in a row any day of the week.
Can somebody explain to me why Jay Gruden went for two points after the last Redskins TD ? Instead of being up 14-10 at halftime, the Skins are up 13-10.
An NFL record 11 missed extra points probably had something to do with it. I like the idea of offenses going for it early in the game. Why not? Plenty of time to make that point up. Also. What's the NFL average conversion rate for 2 point plays? If it's anywhere near 50% and you go 1 for 2 you make up one of the missed opportunities anyways. In a perfect world at least, build as much of a lead on your opponent as you can in the first half and take the safe plays in the second half depending on the situation. I liked Seattle trying to bury New England by going for it last week too.
I'm starting to like Kirky more and more as I watch him. He puts the ball exactly where he wants it and has a solidly quick release. Obviously it's not always in the correct spot, but he looks robotic in a good way (as in always the same delivery). That can be a bad thing in not adjusting arm angles to where the throwing lanes are, but he's a quality NFL quarterback. Almost wish we went out and got him when he was available (although Shanahan wasn't budging on him because he wasn't sold on RG3).
Now the Redskins are 22-10 instead of 24-10. That's the problem with going for 2 early. They spend the rest of the game trying to catch up.
Yeah I'm a huge fan of teams going for two waaaaay more often, but I have no idea why the Skins went for two that first time; now they're stuck chasing the points. And as I was typing that, the Packers secondary gets blowtorched again, Who needs 2pt conversions when you can just fling 70yd touchdowns. Yikes.
Yes I get it. The wind has factored in heavily in this game obviously though, but you're right. They're only up 5 when they should be up a full touchdown. Packers defense looks like trash right now though against Kirky.
an XP is a mid-range FG and the wind was making it hard to kick FGs in that direction if the rule change hadn't been made pushing it back, Gruden would've kicked
This game has changed my thoughts on Cousins a lot. He's dead on balls accurate (as Mona in My Cousin Vinny would say) with or without the wind. Sign this guy up for a hundred milly if Washington lets him go, although that won't happen.
He does have a quick release great observation. The more I watch him, which hasn't been a lot, the more I like him too, the problem is just I can't get over the fact that he's going to get a truly absurdly large contract soon and I have seen how that can be a problem with many QBs of his resume
