Miami did us a huge favor by beating the Chiefs today. That, combined with Cincinnati's loss, gives us a huge boost in the playoff race.

    Playoffs

Jets are really in the drivers seat for that last wild card spot. Jets tied with Jax and Kc. Jets have a much easier schedule left then both teams. Jax and Kc have 4 games left with winning teams, they play each other the last game of the season. Jets only have 1 game left vs a winning team. Obviously the Jags will have the tie breaker vs us. We will likely have the tie breaker vs Kc, they are 1-4 vs the afc right now, Jets are 4-4. If its a 3 way tie i am not sure what would happen.

Playoffs? Can we enjoy this one a little while longer?

Don't forget This same team just lost to the damn Browns 2 weeks ago.
In order to make the playoffs we have to be good teams Like the COLTS, JAX, the PATS, and the BEARS.
we are 1-2 against the "Elite" with a Big one comin up.

I swear, we win next week I may join in on your sunshine parade

Why does everybody continue to discount the Browns as a bad team? They took Baltimore down to the wire, and went punch for punch with a powerful Charger offense and beat the Falcons today.

Yes things may fall into place but it's still too early, I think we have a really good shot though because I think we will have a better record than the Chiefs because I just don't see them as being that good of a team plus games with San Diego and Denver will hurt them. Jacksonville can't win on the road and the Garrard magic seemed to wear off today.

I don't think we have any gimmes on the schedule but I can promise you that if the playoffs are on the line in that Oakland game those bastards would like nothing better than to knock us out of the playoffs.

Just thought I might mention that...

Cincinnati still has games AT New Orleans, AT Indianapolis, and AT Denver.
I know that anything is possible in the NFL, but even if the Bengals only win one of those games which is more than possible...they would already have 7 losses. I think the Bengals are out of the playoff picture...

Kansas City still has to face Denver, Baltimore, San Diego, AND Jacksonville.

Jacksonville and KC are guaranteed at least one more loss as they face each other...

Jacksonville also plays New England so again, one of those teams is guaranteed at least one more loss...

Jacksonville still has to face...KC, Indianapolis and New England.

The playoffs are more than alive for the Jets my friends...

It isn't that ealry to talk about either becuase it doesnt matter...we arent on the team.

I think as of now we have a better record in the AFC then the three teams we should all be wishing loose every week. Jax,Cin,Kc.

I'm still so pissed off about that Browns. If we beat the Bears consider it made up.

JAX Plays KC in week 17.

If they beat KC, and there is a 3 way tie, they take the tiebreaker, because they would have beat both of us.

If KC beats JAX, then we go down to conference record. We're 4-4, with 4 more conference games to go: Buffalo/Miami/Oakland/Houston

Those games aren't as much of pushovers as them seemed.

I think we should stack up all the cliches -- one week at a time and "on any given sunday."

The jets obviously have positioned themselves well but we are NOT good enough to pencil in wins.

GB, Buffalo, Miami, Houston and dare i say, the Raiders, are all playing much much better. There are no easy games. (Then again we are not playing Indy at Indy or Denver at Denver). BUT ... I would not be surprised if the Jets hiccup one or two times along the way.

i STILL think 8-8- would be a remarkable accomplishment.

8-8 for the season, before it started, would have been a nice accomplishment.

8-8 sitting at 5-4 would be a dissapointment. I know we can't pencil in games, but except for the Bears game, we'll have a better record than the opponent? Does that matter? Not really, but it should mean we can PLAY in the game. You seem to be assuming we'll be 5-5 after this week (I can agree), and then split the last 6... If that happens, I wouldn't be shocked, but I'd be dissapointed.

as far as I'm concerned, the only game I couldnt stand to see us lose is vs GB. (one of my best firiends is a Pack fan). And we bust his balls about Favre being washed up.

    Gotta win.

    lol.

anyways i think 8 wins should be guaranteed barring a meltdown

I don't expect a win next Sunday, but in my opinion, we won that Browns game.

Raiders, Houston and Buffalo are all at home, so you would believe we have a great chance to win those. Then the others are Bears, at miami, at vikings at packers. If we split those we would go 10-6
