that he seems to be running more patiently? It looks like he's slowly taking more time to make cuts, whereas his first few starts consisted of numerous bashings up the gut. This seems to be responsible for his increasing contributions. I like to think that this is a result of C-Mart, working with our players behind the scenes, doing what he still can to help the team. :hackett:
I didn't notice more patience, just better overall performance. I figured it was just a combination of making better reads and the Oline doing a better job. Remember the PATS Dline had some injuries. I think our lines outplayed theirs today, though.
Guys, remember, we got this guy 10 days before the season began. Everyone else on the team had the playbook in their hands during minicamp in April. He didn't get it until the end of August. He's getting better with the plays, and he's getting to a point where he can play instead of think.
He shocked me today, I thought he was trash, but he proved me wrong. Today was easily his best day as a jet. I still believe leon should've gotten more touches, but it's good to see that barlow is improving.
Why should Leon Washington get more carries today? What evidence did he give? Today's best running was RIGHT UP THE GUT, and Barlow was doing a good job doing it.
You can't give Leon all the carries. He's a rookie, and shouldn't be given that much of a load. Barlow really turns it on in the Red zone.
On a play like, say when barlow had a 5 yd run to the outside for a first down. He had open field, had that been leon, he would've had probably about 10 yds with his speed. Leon is lightning on the outside, and deserves atleast half the carries. I know that barlow played well, but I'm just saying leon should've gotten some more touches. Barlow does play better in those conditions.
Not all, atleast half. They should probably both get the same amount of carries. I agree that barlow should get the carries down by the goal line as he can power it in there. But leon should be getting more carries (like the game against the lions) for him to excel.
Today was a muddy terrain. I didn't watch the game, only saw like 2 highlights, but it was a muddy terrain, more suited to a power running game. That's what Barlow can give you.
I think you give carries to whoever plays well each game. They have different styles, and they do better against different defenses. Unless you have a monster like LT, I think this is the system you should have. RBBC is working real well for us, let's stick with it. Against the Bears, I think Leon will be more succesful.
Dillon was so embarassingly slow on that one 50 yard run that dyson caught up to him on. Looked like he was going in reverse.
