@DEN for sure. I'll roll the dice on losing one other. SEA or @Mia most likely. Most important thing is the Jets running the table.
Too many of you are content to another losing season. I'm not. I want to see this team go on a run and make the playoffs. It's been too long. BELIEVE.
NO, we just want to see a real contender, not a fantasy world contender. We want to see the team make the necessary moves and changes to become a perennial playoff team, not a one and done team that gets blown out.
Couldn't agree more. Everyone is so quick to give up on a season. It's almost as if people believe that getting a top 5 pick ensures us of success. Lets remember the last time we picked in the top 5 we drafted Mark Sanchez, and the year before that we drafted 6th overall and drafted Gholston. Drafting really high ensures you of nothing. Two of our best draft picks in recent years were Wilkerson (number 30) and Richardson (number 13). If you know how to draft you can find talent regardless of where you draft. The Jets have a legit shot at being 5-5. It's definitely possible. And at 5-5 we would be alive and well in the playoff race. I'm not willing to give up on this season. It's going to be a tough game this Sunday against Miami. But Miami is very similar to us and they are certainly beatable.
It helps drafting high when the guy doing the drafting knows what he's doing. We had a grandfathered in scouting dept. who were set in their ways without fear of losing their jobs if they picked wrong. Bradway had been around forever as had his dept. so its no surprise they f'd up the last high DP's we owned. I'd like to think Mac and a completely revamped scouting dept. could do better than Vern and Sanchez and Ducasse and Hill...
I hope so as well. But my point is, while you have a better selection of players the closer to the top you draft, it still doesn't ensure you of anything. You still have to pick the right guys. Hopefully Mac is capable of doing that. But a good drafter can find talent picking anywhere in the first round. You don't need a top draft pick to turn your franchise around if you know how to draft and pick players. The top spots are key when that franchise QB like a Luck or a Newton are sitting there.
Agreed. But I'm not willing to mail this season in. I just want to be 5-5 going into that Patriots game.
It's been over, time to see if we have anything in Petty, because we have absolutely nothing in Fitzpatrick
Bowels refuses to play Petty..he has had two perfect opportunities and still brings Fitzpatrick back in.
I dunno if its Mac that is keeping Petty on the bench or Gailey's marriage to Fitz. It could be that Bowles is just that f'n QB stupid too since he is a defense minded HC. This HC would play Fitz over Peyton Manning in his prime.
Well, next year I am going to tell Directv to go fuck itself and save $300 by not renewing the Sunday Ticket. I can watch the Titans lose for free on TV and watch the Jets lose on the Internet for Free
