Even if it's best for the team? Then good riddance, go be a fair weather fan. Plenty of bandwagons to jump on, go wear Blue on Sundays.

He was a young guy on a bad team with a coach that isn't exactly known for keeping his players accountable. Why can't anyone give him a break? He's the best chance we have at a QB solution. Let's see what Gailey can do with Geno, because there isn't much you can do with a limited QB like Fitz. Fitz had a good year last year, but the underlying statistics told a story of a QB who feasted on bad defenses and tremendous luck on inaccurate throws. He also had one of the worst AYA of any QB in the NFL. Regression was SO OBVIOUS, that no team HAD ANY INTEREST in Fitz after last year. However, our FO let the players and fanbase bully them into re-signing this guy.

That's not true, I've seen awfully divisive behavior from Jets fans RE: Geno. I really believe that a good amount of Jets fans are rooting for Geno to fail because they despise him for whatever reason.

Haha first of all go eff yourself. second, Matthieu is out of position all game long, and plays like a lazy jerkoff. He gets a pick at the end of the game on a horribly telegraphed pass so the mainstream narrative continues that he's a "playmaker" - and you eat it up;?that tells me you don't know shit about football.

He's a lazy jerkoff? Is that why an organization that is considered smart signed him to a big deal after a torn ACL? So you're going to sit here and tell me that you know more about football than Steve Keim and Bruce Arians, yet you can't even construct a proper sentence? The saddest thing about stupid people like you is that they lack the self-awareness to keep their mouths shut when they're wrong.

He'd have to play lights out for the rest of the season to get another contract. I don't think that's possible.
My guess is he plays well enough to win a couple but they pull the plug when Petty is healthy enough.

Considered smart by who? The mainstream? Hmm well yea actually I do think I am smarter personnel-wise because I was pounding my fist in here that David Johnson is going to be an elite pro RB back when nobody heard of him - go back and look at my draft posts. There's a documentary out now about Arizona that year, and this was called out in the MNF broadcast btw, that showed how in love they were with massive bust Ameer Abdullah and lamented the fact that they had to settle for DJ as a "poor mans Abdullah" (lmfao) Then they treated DJ as a second class citizen to a signed off the street Chris Johnson for half the year until DJ willed his way to more and more touches. The glow has faded from Arizona, they're not a great team anymore , they're good because DJ has been so sick that he's willing them to victory. Arians is a blowhard like Rex Ryan who sticks to his guys, Matthieu has been a disaster in that defense this year but Arians won't see it because that's "his guy". You're obviously just a sheep that follows rotoblurb and ESPN articles, so I take it as a compliment that you would call me stupid.

Considered smart by the highly educated and successful people who run the Arizona Cardinals organization. The same people that would probably turn you down for a job to clean their toilets. Oh, you knew about David Johnson before even scouts did? I guess you were at Northern Iowa scouting his games alongside all the other pro scouts! I wanted us to draft Allen Robinson instead of Jace Amaro, do you see me here telling everyone I'm a better personnel man than Terry Bradway? How is Abdullah already a bust? That's a bit premature, don't ya think? Don't worry though, you're really smart in your own world. I'm sure every failure you've had in life is just some "conspiracy".. Stay stupid, bro.

    I said let him walk.
If the Jets don't, they will be back where they were with Fitzpatrick.
An endless summer of back and forth negotiating with QB that nobody
    else wants but the Jets.

So the people venting on Fitz are pogonists?

He generates hate because he is a rubbish QB whos every start (since our each individual point of realisation of that fact) is taking action and reps away from some guy who might be 'the' guy.

Unless you're actually making a very subtle point about the effects of domestic tensions and the inherent disadvantages in being a young black man in America has on an individuals advancement in both social graces and mental acuity?

Essentialy making the argument that missing meetings, flashing his dick and insulting fans is a result of him being bought up in a black culture that is ghettoised from white society and norms and that his mental lapses on field should be weighed against an educational system in which black students are (largely) at a disadvantage. i.e He is a git and dumb because he is black?

Depending on how well he plays a "prove it" deal may not be an option. Nice in theory to say we'll just give him a prove it deal, but he could have better options available at that point.

Because people never root for black guys who actually play well. Never happens.

    Makes a lot of since.

Is that the same reason you don't like Fitz?

Or is it because he can't play the position of QB at the level that is required to play in the NFL?

I'm pretty sure the Jets team are the reason.
