Look...i am as frustrated as all of you, but i say take a deep breath and count down before you suggest firing Bowles. Give the guy a chance...teams e.g. Dallas need stability and for the right pieces to fall in place at one time. Looking back at Cowhers history with Pittsburgh his 1st yr he went 11-6...2nd yr 9-7. There was one year i believe in '99 the team was 6-10. But nobody remembers that...they only remember the success and the Superbowl. If im not mistken he only won 1 correct? So why is he the answer for those who think he is a viable replacement?
Cowher got like 15 tries to win a title in PIT. That shit doesn't happen here. I don't have an answer for you but I too would be skeptical of hiring a Cowher or a Gruden, if they ever wanted to touch this dumpster fire.
Stay away from Spider Y-2 Banana. I honestly believe he is an idiot. Throw 9/yr million at Bill Cowher. I'm all about it. He won't come here though.
Cowher hasn't coached in 10 years and the game has completely changed since then. He's not the answer and he's certainly not worth giving all that money and power.
Haha! Right, I get t, but he brings some old school toughness to the table, prolly has a coupe a seasons left in him....
Cowher has been around the game since he last coached. I seriously doubt he would have any interest but he would bring instant credibility back to this team. I usually preach stability but Bowles has reached a level of incompetence that I haven't seen since Kotite, he needs to go the sooner the better.
Yes, but Cowher earned the longevity. In the 13 years it took him to win the Super Bowl, he had 10 playoff appearances, 8 division titles, 5 AFC Championship appearances, and a Super Bowl appearance. The Steelers' worst record during his tenure was 6-10, and both times they went 6-10, they improved the next season; in 2004, they improved to 15-1! This very consistent success was going to result in a Super Bowl at some point, and the Steelers knew it. None of the Jets' coaches since Parcells ever showed improvement or consistency over their tenure. Hire Cowher and give him a year; we'd be right back in the thick of things, and probably for years to come.
Hey I'll tell ya who is a seasoned veteran of coaching, and has had tremendous success across the board. Wade Phillips. I dunno, I'm reaction and grabbing for SOMETHING to turn this franchise around...
No to Cowher. If we replace Bowles, our best bet, barring a longshot like Harbaugh, would be coach who's had success but got fired anyway. Marvin Lewis for example if the Bengals can him.
No Wade Phillips please. Cowher and Gruden are making good money sitting on their rear ends, why would they give up those positions to end up being tired and stressed out for 2 or 3 years on the sidelines? I wouldn't give up what they had if I had to choose. I would like Kyle Shanahan as the HC of the jets if TB did get fired, he has done an excellent job with QBs. If Petty or Hack are the future, we need someone who can help develope one of those guys.
He predicted the Browns would go 0-16 and he may be right.Anyway the answer to this question is we should have never fired Rex .You dont fire a coach who had major success in the playoffs.Todd Bowles was only a DC for two seasons i dont know what made him a viable candidate.
