Honestly can't believe Fitz is the starter. Blaming it all on the OL? This guy missed his target many times tonight. He sucked, regardless of how shaky the OL was.
If that backup were anybody but Geno Smith, yes. But Geno isn't under contract next year, so there's no football sense in playing him. And after all the shit he's put the franchise through, including his hissy fit tonight, he doesn't deserve to play over Fitz.
I'm already 100% comfortably ready to move onto Petty. I'm willing to guess the coaches are too. Just a matter of whether he's physically ready right now.

that was a disservice putting Geno in the end of a demoralizing game. let him play a game so he can set the tempo and feel comfortable. if he can't handle that then let's see what Petty can do.
No one has any information on who will play QB Sunday. They will be talking about it and watching film all the way home. At some point they will make a change. Can you imagine the people on this board's reaction if there was a new QB and he won the next game. Can't wait!
There's even less football sense in playing the journeyman never-was, Fitz, dude....wake up If I was sitting behind a garbage dumpster I'd be getting antsy too or whatever it was he said at this point in the season....can you really blame him? If a corner back was out there embarrassing himself just getting lit up for bomb after bomb you have to pull him for the next guy just to be fair
What do you expect? He had one drive late in the game, they should have made the change at the half. Fitz is Bowles guy and he will die by him.
Agree. Fitz is retired next year and Geno is in the CFL if he's lucky. Need to give the kids the reps the rest of the way and assess the future.
If Petty is healthy and they don't start him at this point, then it's another notch on the fire Bowles belt. I "understand" not starting Geno, he has less of a future in NY than Fitz. But at this point, I would rather see Geno in over Fitz because he has been that bad this year.
If Geno doesn't deserve to play at this point he shouldn't have ever been on the team If they go with Petty the rest of the way then fine....but to start Fitz again over anyone is a completely gutless move
If we are not ready to at least look at Petty I wonder what the hell is going through Mac's head. Why did you draft him then? And Hackenberg in the 2nd round looks light years away from being ready. Mac is the one guy I'm holding out some hope for but we are carrying four quarterbacks and we are not willing to look at any of them besides Fitz? With the season totally over what are you waiting for? I'd rather see Geno than Fitz (wow, cant believe its come to that) but why not try Petty? Did Mac already realize he whiffed on Petty?
I wanted Geno to make the team because if we were in contention and Fitz were to get knocked out, Geno would give us the best chance of saving the season (at least according to the coaching staff). Now there isn't really any point in Fitz or Geno.
Well he didn't even dress tonight so Geno for a game or 2, get Petty some work and then go to him.....I just can't watch Fitz anymore
