Henderson likely out, and Lee's got a lot to prove.
big opportunity for him to step up today.

I didn't like the pick, as i generally don't like the risk of hybrid type players that high, and wasn't convinced he was an every down LB.
that said, his speed is certainly evident.
while i didn't like what i perceived as risk, there certainly could be reward there if he pans out.
    obviously rooting for him..

It's just amazes me how much you dislike the guy. He rarely misses tackles and he's not a complete liability in the flats. Bowles doesn't put Harris in bad situations which is nice too.

One of the more underrated linebackers, the Jets have had ever. Great communicator, hard worker, never gets in trouble and durable.

  3. If he isn't a 1st round talent neither was Deon Buchanon, Ryan Shazier,Keanu Neal & perhaps even Luke Keuchle.

Lee has been one of the only bright spots on the defense. Burris has looked good too.

Lee looked like Calvin Pace speed wise. Hoping it was just that thick KC grass that caused this to happen.

Looked slow to me last week, frankly the whole team did last week Lee was no exception. Either way Lee hasn't looked worthy of the pick so far.

To me Lee's success or failure is 100% based on Bowles ability to keep him unblocked. He' so small that the very second he gets engaged by a pulling Guard he'll be done. I already saw Brandon Sherff toss him aside like dirty laundry in the Redskins preseason game. It's actually laughable.
Now there's no doubt he can fly, but in order to get his speed Bowles/Mac gave up all of the other necessary practicalities that go into being linebacker.
But most of all, given Bowles recent issues with coaching, I strongly doubt he'll be able to put Lee in a position where he goes consistently unblocked. I just think Darron Lee is a wasted pick.......

He's not that small. Another poster posted a list of LBs in the NFL who are around the same size as Lee, and they're among the league's best.

How did Mac give up all the other necessary practicalities that go into being a LB in taking Lee? What did he give up?

It's so irrational. I was hard on Harris before they resigned him, but he's still a top notch run stuffing inside linebacker, and a solid blitzed at his age. He's the perfect compliment to someone like Lee and we really take his abilities for granted.

Jersey jay should go back and look at the garbage players that have been available at inside backer in free agency the past couple years. I'm fine with Harris getting the money he got rather than have problems like the Giants do starting Mark friggain Herzlich and other such scrubs.

  17. I do question his ability to stack especially in the middle consistently. He compensates for that by being very explosive when moving downhill But he is still a first round talent & valuable commodity no doubt. He's a plus blitzer,he closes well in space & he always finds his way to the football. In a multiple scheme Lee can fulfill alot of different roles. Additionally it's hard to deny the explosion element that he brings that's been sorely missing for a very long time.

If he can perfect his technique, get alittle stronger & of course stay healthy..he might be a cornerstone of this defense. You might even wanna consider switching full time to a 4-3 over/under look. He'd look mighty good as a "will" out in space.

Common guy... It wasn't the pick I wanted at the time (I wanted Spriggs or Will Jackson) and I had serious doubts but he's looked great so far. You're kinda speaking in half truths. All players need to be put in the right position to succeed by the coaches and that's exactly what they're doing with Lee inside.

Don't hate any Jets players hope he does well. All I said was he didn't look as fast as expected vs KC. Especially and coverage and in pursuit, sure he had an ok stat line. Can't stomach rewatching the game to find out when specifically that thought crossed my mind, but I do remember thinking it.

For someone who wants to track the haters down at games, that is the most pussy post I've ever seen.
