The AFC is absolutely loaded this year. Pittsburgh, New England, and Denver are clearly the three best teams in the NFL. Beyond that you have a Cincy (whom already beat us), Baltimore (always beats us), KC, Houston, Indy, and San Diego who all look really good.
IMO, I am glad you shared your opinion on this. So IYO do the Jets make the playoffs? At 11 wins they will.
Not convinced Baltimore looks really good. We're clearly right up there with the likes of Cinci, KC, Houston and Indy. Haven't watched San Diego yet. Meanwhile, beating Pittsburgh, New England and Denver will be tall tall orders.
Aren't the Colts 0-2? They haven't looked good at all. And Baltimore has been less than impressive with a 13-7 win over Buffalo & a 25-20 come from behind win against the Browns.
I watched NFL football all day today. As many problems as our Jets have displayed over the last two weeks, all the teams you listed look as bad or worse. I feel better about the Jets today than I did after the game Thursday.
After the initial stretch the Jets will have the opportunity to rack up several wins. If they can beat some of the better teams, 11 wins is possible and makes it likely they'll earn a playoff berth. I think 10 wins is the minimum to get in, and that will largely depend on tie breakers. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
Yes we have got to try to win every game and perhaps grab the Division. Pittsburgh looks dominant in the AFC imo That's until Shady Brady returns I have not seen as good a Team as this one in years, That said, we can beat anyone home and away...with a little luck Injuries to top contenders will help us and we need to avoid them The Marshall one was nearly fatal..kripes! I want 11 wins and a beat down of the Pats. Lets do it already!!
You realize the AFC teams play each other right? And the NFC teams play each other. Thus, someone wins and loses every game. By your theory that the AFC is loaded, it actually makes it easier for a team to get in with 9 or 10 wins, since all these good teams have to play each other.
Ironically, getting into the playoffs may come down to the final game against the Bills , again......but on our own turf this time.
The chances of this happening are literally slim to none. Since the NFL expanded to a 16 game schedule only two teams have ever won 11 games but yet still missed the postseason. 1.) The 2008 Patriots & 2.) The 1985 Broncos. In order for you to make this wild prediction, I'd like for you to tell us which two wild card teams you see winning 11 games in order for the Jets (or any other team) to need 12 wins in order to land a playoff birth. Which two wild card teams do you see both winning at least 11 games?
This is just based over two weeks, and my observations with NFL Sunday Ticket/ SoS/ makeup of the teams listed. West- Denver South- Texans North- Pitt/ Cincy East- Pats/ Jets WC- Bengals/Jets/Pitt/Ravens Realistically, we need to beat Chiefs/ Steelers.. We can "afford" to drop the Seattle, Arizona games. I say afford, but they wouldn't be as detrimental as losing to an AFC team.
