They should all be shot, DFA'ed, cut...honestly if you give up 24 points to a Bills team where their only playmaker was a cripple that's a pretty bad sign for weeks where you're actually playing a good offense.

Terrible. Revis is lost on his own island by himself. Did he forget his trade? Does he not know how to cover or tackle anymore? cut this overpaid bum.

Thank goodness we have a long break... hopefully Bowles and Co. can fix that mess

Take the W anyway you can though

Williams is the best corner on this team, Skrine next...Revis after.

Williams is basically Otis Smith, he'll trade big plays for you and big plays against you.

Taylor had 297 passing yards. Like half of them came on 2 plays. Revis got abused once and I believe Miles did as well.

The rest of the secondary wasn't that bad, I didn't think.

It's tough to discount two 70+ yard touchdowns but those two players accounted for 155 yards of his 297. That means without those two plays he was 16/28 for 142 yards 1 touchdown/1 INT. No excuses for the bombs being given up. Revis needs help and cannot be left alone. If he's left to the underneath responsibility he could be picking off balls left and right because he's a heady player that's great at jumping routes, knocking down balls and has good hands. We need a two deep safety look.

Revis + 10 yards off + in a bail technique = auto-touchdown. He doesn't have the recovery speed anymore. Doesn't mean he can't be effective, but he needs to be used differently.

Fix it Bowles & Rodgers. You're going to start being labeled as a stubborn ignorant coaching staff. If we can see it, then he should be able to as well.

The pass rush was poor tonight as well, but I chalk that up to a combination of a good amount of max protects, a mobile quarterback and a defensive line that exploded only three days ago with little rest. Should be fine if the correct secondary adjustments are made.

We should make a play on Teez or the Humphrey cat from Bama. Revis doesn't have much left in him. Hopefully he can salvage this season like he salvaged the rest of the game.

Our strength is up front. Go with a straight up 4 man rush and we should still be able to hit the QB. And mix up the coverages with extra guys to make plays. If Carolina could do it last year so can we.

Whilst the DL didn't get the pressure of last week, they still did a good job at holding the running game in check and on the whole keeping Taylor from moving out of the pocket and killing us with his feet for the most part. Obviously on the stats line the passing yards against didn't look that great, but as one poster said two TD's on 84 yard and 75 yard pass plays! Take them out of the equation and things look massively different.

So in short I think we are not far away from being very competitive in most games, just cut down on the big plays we are letting through the secondary and stop putting the ball on the floor on offence, that fumble return for 6 nearly killed me.

The secondary is as bad as it was in Ryan's last year and that is after spending about 60 million dollars to improve it. Maccagnan is walking on thin ice about now.

I think some of the people in the game thread that were claiming Bowles needed to be fired
are a little....over the top. I think as long as the team gets better each week we will be fine.
I'm concerned and surprised by the defense. Taylor had 297 yds, which is the most he has ever thrown for
in a game (291 against KC in a losing effort last year was his previous best). I'm not
convinced yet that this offense is going to be consistent, but this was a road game and
adventures always happen in road games. Nevertheless, the D can't be giving up bombs
every week, and this is twice in row. We'll see what happens.

It seemed Taylor missed more throws for incompletions than were incompletions simply because we defended them.

GTFO. Mac is NOT walking on thin ice. What an idiotic thing to say. He is the reason this team has the talent it does.

The secondary isn't as bad as you claim, either. Revis is the culprit. He's either not 100% or his skills have quickly deteriorated. Deion said that thinks that Revis has lost confidence. Hopefully, that's something he and they can fix with giving him safety help if nothing else.

I can't speak for others, but my comments about possibly firing Bowles were purely out of frustration with what was happening on the field.

I've been a Jets fan since 1964. I'm tired of their finding new ways to lose games that they should win. I'm tired of Jets' HCs being too conservative and not learning from their mistakes. I still like Bowles and loved the hiring. Until he shows that he's learning from his mistakes and growing in the job, and stop being so passive/conservative, however my opinion of him will continue to deteriorate. I have little patience with stubborn coaches who refuse to see when something isn't working and/or who refuse to change, and who don't learn from their mistakes.

I truly hope that he learns from his mistakes and makes the necessary adjustments/corrections, because I love the way he handles the media, he has brought a lot of good things to the Jets, is a good man, and it is in the Jets' best interests that he develop and they have some real stability with the team.

In his defense, the rules of today's NFL limiting contact practice and eliminating two-a-days, puts all HCs at a real disadvantage. It affects execution, and at least contributes to, if not causes, mental breakdowns on the field.

i'm not going to sit here and act like this secondary is a piece of hot garbage.

revis is still very good, who has had an unfortunate past 2 weeks. i'd rather him be on my team than not. skrine is still good and williams is a fine #3. pryor is on his way to being very good and gilchrist is more than capable.

our secondary deficiencies have come from miscommunication, not lack of talent. the miscommunication errors have been HUGE, but these will get fixed

Totally agree Dom. Talent is there. Have faith they will get better as the season goes on.
