The scheme has to be better and our Safety's have to do a better job in coverage namely Gilchrist who in opinion was a horrible signing. If we give our corners better over top coverage , they will play better.
He has PLENTY of speed for a safety and he still has plenty of speed now. Green beat him because he got LAZY and relied on safety help. The throw was on a dime. He may not be as fast as before but he's still fast. And I never would pay 15 mill - he'd have to take less and move to the position
Seriously though if revis continues to come back into the slightly above avg category i would definitely approach him with the FS idea and with the appropriate pay scale.......doesn't he have different agents these days. Work in a young corner while revis transitions could solve the secondary. Shit the milliner pick really hurts.
At least for the moment, we'll just have to agree to disagree about his speed or lack thereof. You know as well as I that Revis isn't about to take a pay cut.
Not sure if we need to be kicking the tires on new CBs, but Seahawks released CB Tharold Simon Chiefs released 2016 3rd round CB KeiVarae Russell.
Well, he's been hot garbage since returning to the field. Wouldn't give up Sheldon who has 5 to 10 more Pro Bowl years in him for a guy that might be done already. The way he played last year he wouldn't even be able to beat out Marcus Williams for the nickel job, let alone Skrine for a starting job. He was Cromartie bad. If he bounces back this year I'd probably consider it.
As far as Sheldon's contract, don't we still have the 5th year option for next year if we need? Which should be around 8-9 mil, not cheap I realize, but nowhere near what he will ask. We can always retain him for another year should Mac choose. We would have to get a late 1 for him though for "fair" compensation in a trade, which is probably unlikely.
How much you wanna bet Revis nixes the idea about moving to Safety His body has been pussy whipped at corner and he is just not constructed physically to play a Safety imo where you come up to the line and bang people
Sheldon might be the stupidest piece of ratshit that's ever worn a Jet uniform. How on EARTH do you get a taunting penalty on a play where you give up an 85-yard TD?!?!
I think it's a real concern whether Sheldon is in the Jets long term plans or not. He's a beast certainly, but his character is not great, and I don't know if you could call him trustworthy from the perspective of the front office. He had that important stop yesterday, but also a really shitty taunting call. So he's tied for now on impact plays, taunting penalties, and games suspended. Ultimately the team has to ask whether his price tag is better spent on him or somewhere else on the roster? Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
What's up man, long time no see. Hope everything's good with you. Good to finally have some Jets football back.
