Maybe a new court case with Turturro..... Which would have potential at least. I liked Hap & Leonard. Had its flaws, like it was low budget, but the story was good. It had a lot of elements that made it interesting. It was taken from a book by Joe R. Lansdale, and the show made me interested in the writer. There's a movie on Netflix that was based on a book by him, Cold In July, that was okay.
Started watching Cold in July but wife didn't like it too much and I never went back to finish it. Might have to give it another try.
Heard a interesting theory...And it was hinted possibly as a angle on thr show. What if Freddie is taking such a liking to Naz because he knows he didnt kill her and he made the call to have Andrea killed from the inside for having drug money on the hook.
It hasn't been too good to be true at all. It comes with a cost. Swallowing drugs from a woman's snatch is just the beginning. He's already paying for that protection and that price will only get steeper. The one glaring issue to the drama is the room is covered in blood and nobody has raised the question that there wasn't a drop on him, and no evidence he washed up at any point. Seems like a pretty important point a case would hinge on.
He absolutely targets Nas because he's vulnerable. The great thing about the show is it plays both sides well. Wasn't it the guy who burned him that warned Nas not to take the protection? He's both right about the warning but also the reason why he needs the protection. You can't trust anybody in the joint.
Next step: They figure out that the drugs + the antihistamine from the inhaler would have knocked him out cold. That or they find the guy who doesn't have the sense to stop slashing women up in the exact same way all over town.
The last few weeks have been bad but last week ruined the series. One more episode and then we are all saved from this bullshit. Started great but is ending horribly.
No we won't. Pretty well done showing the transformation of a relatively good and naive Nas into prison culture. Regardless of the case outcome, which I think he will lose, the Nas from episode one is gone and ultimately has lost.
The show has gone down the drain and it pisses me off every week lately.... I actually hope Nas killed her now and we find that out. Maybe they'll have the cat speak of what happened. That would be a fitting ending for the ridiculous nonsense we have been seeing
I just binged the 7 episodes over the past 2 days. I'm under the impression that the finale airs today, the 28th. I, too, am disappointed with the direction that the show went. Started off extremely interesting, and I was truly rooting for Nas to be found innocent. However, it's pretty unsettling and disappointing with the way his character developed in prison. I am no longer rooting for him, and actually am starting to believe he did it or at the very least is going to be found guilty anyway. At this point he deserves to be kept in prison. It's really sad to see how the situation affected his parents. The purpose of the show seems to be to portray how the criminal justice system is flawed, and how people become institutionalized in prison. Nas was seemingly an innocent man who ended up in prison, and it was prison that turned him into a criminal. When you look at it like that, it still makes for an interesting premise. Nonetheless, that premise won't result in a redeeming ending. Side note: Wtf was with him and his female lawyer hooking up all of a sudden? Where is that going to go with one episode left and how is that going to contribute? It was strange, though, that as they were hooking up he was thinking of the victim in the case. Maybe hinting that he did actually do it. Another side note: Wtf was the point of the whole feet issue that the male lawyer had all freakin season? Is there any symbolism with that or anything? And what about his son? Is there any reason he was included as a side character in this mini series? Just feels like there's a bunch of loose ends that can't be resolved/explained with this one episode left. First 3 or 4 episodes were a good time, last few it's been going downhill.
I may be coming out of nowhere with this, but I have a feeling the lawyer, Stone, is the one who murdered Andrea. He has that foot condition, went to the alternative medicine doc to get treatment (who said he needed to get rid of the cat). I think he is invested in the cat because of what he did to the girl. And now we see the eczema has spread to his face since he has kept the cat. We know he likes prostitutes and I believe Andrea could have very well been one. Then he hired the private investigator to take pics of Andreas house. The investigator mentioned that there was blood on some leaves near the back door, saying "it could be squirrel blood"??? Could it have came from his foot? Then there is the scene where he is sleeping with the prostitute and he says something to the effect of "I hate when young girls say they remind me of their father" and he was being serious. Something big is going to happen tonight or it's going to be a disappointing let down of a series.
It is a little farfetched, but your theory is backed by a lot of interesting points. I definitely thought it was odd and out of nowhere when he told that girl he hates it when attractive young women say they remind him of their fathers. It would also make sense as to why he saw Nas in jail in the beginning and without asking any questions immediately decided that he'd be his lawyer. Did he recognize him from that night, knowing that he didn't do it and decided to defend him from being charged? It would still seemingly be a big stretch to make this the narrative for the finale, but then again I think it's safe to expect a shocking finale.
